Wow, I haven't seen those in years. I used to have all the early issues (including the first printings of #1 and #2, when the full title was "Cherry Poptart", before they probably gotten threatened with a lawsuit). I have no idea if it's still being published though.

Damn, that's a title I haven't heard of in a long time. I have one issue, I bought it because Neil Gaiman wrote a story for it. Almost got it signed by him, but he had a limit of 2 items per person at the signing, and my 1st editions HC's of Good Omens and Angels & Visitations were more important.

If I read it right, the Cherry web site hasn't been updated since '96.

Neil Gaiman did Cherry Poptart?

I remember having some of those - I may still have them. Not Neil Gaiman though.

Wow, I didn't know Neil Gaiman wrote a Cherry story. I'm trying to wrap my head around that.

I do love those risque stories, although the quality got a lot worse in later issues (looked like he took about 10 minutes with the art on some of them). The original half-dozen or so, though - ahhhh, that's the stuff.

There are several different incarnations of the Cherry comic. The one Gaiman wrote for is called "Cherry Deluxe #1" and was published by Cherry Comics in 1998. Gaiman's story was the first in the book, titled "The Innkeeper's Soul" and is illustrated by Cherry creator Larry Welz. Do a Google search with the terms Cherry, Deluxe and Gaiman and you can find out more info (not sure just how far we can go discussing an adult book outside of the adult forum).

Oh, and to answer the OP's original question, I do believe that Welz is no longer making Cherry Comics. The best way to find out for sure would be to contact your local comic shop or e-mail one of the sites that sells back issues.
