Good books for teaching a child to draw?

I've got a 6-year-old daughter who has a good imagination and wants to move beyond her stick figures. She sometimes seems frustrated by her own perceived inability to adequately express herself in her drawings. Anybody know a good book for helping a kid learn to draw?

Hmm I am trying to think if I even had books as a kid. I think back then I tended to learn from tracing more than anything. You might have better luck if you search for a particular subject such as animals or whatever she really likes to draw.

Cowtown, I'm sure this won't help, but I think the key is flipping through a book at your local library, book store, or possibly art store. I think all art books will help, but you need to gauge your wonderful daughter's skill with what's presented in the book. It might sound silly, but I think a drawing book is highly personal, and not every book, even the highly-touted ones, are meant for everyone.

You might check out, Drawing with Children, by Mona Brookes. I used that with my daughter when she was about that age.

You can do a search at www.scholastic.com for a variety of drawing books. They carry basic skill books as well as books that deal with drawing a certain character or item like cars or animals.
