Looks awesome. Hopefully the battle scenes are more than a sidenote though; would love to see a "Horatio Hornblower Miniseries"-sized battle done by Hollywood.

I didn't know Clive Owen is in it. I'm really looking forward to this.

"Elizabeth" is one of my Top 5 favorite movies ever. Which is why I'm so looking forward to "The Golden Age". It's the same director too, which is always a bonus.

I had a chance to see this movie about two months ago. I was in the first audience ever to see the completed film. Hopefully they went back and reworked the the film a bit. Although great acting, the story had a slow beginning with a fast ending. It ends right after the defeat of the Spanish. IMHO, the first film was much better.

Very Cool. The first was a favorite of mine. I'd love to see more told of the story, though I suspect it'll be next to impossible to meet the standard of the first.

I haven't seen the first either, but this trailer is absolutely amazing I think. Does anyone know what the background music is? It sounds extremely familiar.

There was cgi used for the boat battle which wasn't the greatest, but should suffice. Any fan of the first should be pleased, although there's just something about it that didn't captivate as the first did. Like I said, it's been a few months, and they may have went back and reworked things per the audience suggestions. I think I would prefer Elizabeth I, which covers much of the same ground as this film does.

Newer and extended trailer in the theaters now. Saw it before "Hairspray" last night. A few people actually applauded after the trailer. It does look great.

Wow!
I'm quite surprised that no one has said: "If its not R I'm not going to see it. The first Elizabeth was R and so should the sequel." But I guess this board has gotten over that.
Anyways, I saw the trailer before Hairspray last night, and it looks like it's got the makings of being something great.

OK, that looks amazing! Loved "Elizabeth" and by all accounts, this looks to at least equal the greatness of the first feature.

I really enjoyed the first one when I saw it in theaters.
What was really funny was I was in my mid to late 20s when it came out. The teenager at the movie theater wondered why someone younger would want to see a movie that no one but senior citizens were buying tickets for.
I am looking forward to this one. I've always been a fan of English literature and history and have taken literature humanities courses when I was in college.
