Special Effects: The History and Technique - has anyone read it?
Hey, I recently foound out about this book called Special Effects: The History and Technique by Richard Rickitt which is 384 pages on the subject. Apparently a version of the same title came out in 2000 (with the T-1000 from Terminator) on the cover and now they have updated it (2007) with info on new special effects techniques as well as info on recent films such as X-men 3 and King Kong. The cover now has the scrawny guy (Golum?) from Lord of the Rings. I recently bought the 300 plus page 'The Winston Effect' about Stan Winston's studio and think it is great.
This book, however, has no reviews on amazon or anywhere online so I'm wondering if anyone on this DVD forum has read this special effects book? I already ordered it yesterday form amazon.ca, but it won't arrive for while.

Hey thanks, benedict. Yeah, they're probably referring to this one since it was published in Oct 2006 and they seem to be pretty enthousiastic about it. Can't wait!
