Dreamgirls: Bonus goodies?

Other than the Costco special deal with the program...any others specials out there?

Target has a bonus disc. It is a 3 disc set with an exclusive silver foil slipcover as well.

Seriously? That's awesome, I being the nerd that I am was disappointed at the lack of slipcover. I like all these Target 3-disc sets, they rock.

The Target one is confusing. I'd love to hear some confirmation of this. The ad is far too vague as to what it actually is.

As mentioned, there are the Costco and Circuit City ones.

Also, Walmart has a 7 track remix CD with copies of the one disc. The ad claims the remixes are exclusive, but I expect to see that at least two of them are the same as on the deluxe soundtrack.

I saw the Target Dreamgirls at the store today. The third disc has the following extras:
- Jennifer Hudson interview
- MTV Making the Video of one of the songs (maybe Listen? Don't remember.)
- Remix video of somes of the songs
- 8 featurettes

I only noticed it was special because of the slipcover. My store only got 4, so you might want to get it early.

Walmart has a 7 track remix CD with copies of the one disc. So Sam's probably has that one.
I'd go with Target's if you have one near you.

The CD will probably suck and Circuit City's too expensive.

Satisfied?

I really want that program with the Costco deal, but I'm not a member!

I seriously don't want to hang out in front of the store begging someone to buy it for me like an underage kid trying to buy booze outside the corner liquor store (shades of "American Graffiti" flood my brain...)

Mao, I'm a Costco member.

Let me know if I can help. You'll have to fill me in on the details but I can assist.

How much is the Target edition? Can anyone post any pics?

I picked up the 2-disc version at Newbury Comics for $21.99, which is a dollar cheaper than anywhere else. And I'm sort of bummed that there was no slipcover -- if any movie called for one, it would be this. Glitz, glitz, glitz.

22.99, you get a slipcover and a third disc.

I don't have a digital camera, but the Target set is very nice.

I can't believe how poorly it was undersold in the ad.

It has the silver border slipcase like other Target exclusives.

The clamshell case is the same, with a siver border around the standard 2 disc picture.

Inside, disc one is in the "normal" spot and discs two and three are on an attached white flipper.

It's pretty great. I haven't got a chance to watch any of it yet.

By the way, the Circuit City deal is stupid. It's just shrinkwrapped with the already available "making of" book. You could actually get both a little cheaper buying each online seperately.

As for the WalMart CD, 6 of the 7 mixes actually do appear to be exclusive. At least I've never seen them anywhere. I haven't listened to it, but I like dance mixes so I am sure I'll be happy.

1. One Night Only (Club Mix) - I think this is the one on the soundtrack
2. I'm Somebody - Karmatronics Remix
3. Heavy - DJ Escape Remix
4. Listen - Karmatronics Radio Club Mix
5. Move - Fuzion Remix
6. Family - Blaze Roots Remix
7. Dreamgirls - DJ Escape Mix

I haven't got the Costco set yet. I have to wait until a Costco membership having friend gets off work to take me over there.

I don't know if I'll buy it until I see it.

Got the Target 3-disc today too. Our store had at least 15, but almost all the slipcovers were in terrible condition, like somebody jammed as many as possibly into a slot. Mine was one of two in good condition. After this and WTC 3-disc, I'm liking Target.

The Costco set is in a nice Red Box and it has the 2 disk Showstopper edition, the movie sound trak and a program. I did not have a chance to open because I picked it up on my lunch break.
Found this in another post
This set features a two-disc special edition of the film and a two-disc special-edition soundtrack, as well as a limited-edition, 48-page, full-color program that was issued at the film's "roadshow" premieres in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco

I got mine at Target. Am I the only one who throws the slipcovers away?

I really want that remix CD, but not enough to spend another 20 bucks!
