Don't know if it is something I would buy, but I may Netflix it. They are really looking hard for TV shows to release these days. Benson was a good show, but I just can't believe that it had a very big following willing to purchase it.

Wow, good news. I saw the first season of Soap, looking forward to the next three seasons of that, and now Benson!

I liked watching this show in the 80s, but man what a terrible cover.

Oh wow, this is great news. I watch some of the episodes when TV Land had a Benson marathon. I remember watching Benson when I was younger all the way to the very last episode.

This will go with my Facts of Life, Family Ties and Growing Pains dvd set.

Any news of the next season release yet?

Benson is what *was* good about TV. Something simple and entertaining the whole family could enjoy. I introduced my 10 y.o. daughter to Benson when it was on TVLAND and she loved it. I have the first season DVD and a few left on the DVR but would love if the entire series was made available.

A lil' help from my fellow Benson fans to keep the demand up would be nice!

I wouldn’t worry quite yet my friend.

Considering it only came out in July & it’s being released by Sony. I don’t know how well season one sold, the sales are a big factor with TV on DVD titles. Sony’s television on DVD titles has basically no release pattern whatsoever. The only title they’ve had a release pattern for is Seinfeld.

There are a lot of classic shows from the 70s & 80s that Sony needs to release more seasons of/release the series to begin with & since most of the 70s & 80s shows probably aren’t huge sellers, Sony takes their sweet time releasing them.

Like I said, I wouldn’t worry yet, but don’t be surprised if you’ll have too wait awhile longer for the next season/won’t see season 2 released at all.

I can't imagine this sold even 1000 units, consider yourself blessed that you got any part of the series released at all.

Well it was one of the most most requested when it was put up for a vote on the Sony site. I cant imagine they would just abandon it all together.

Of course with zero marketing who would know it was available except collectors and true fans of the show.

Same thing for St. Elsewhere. Great show that pioneered the medical dramas of today yet Season one is just now available? With z e r o marketing to boot. How do they expect to sell volumes these?

How is this in comparison to Soap? I really loves S1 of that show, so if/when I finish that series this could be good to see next.

Benson is NOTHING like Soap. It's like trying to compare Frasier with Cheers. Same character, completely different shows.

But Benson is good. And I'd be surprised, very surprised, if the show as a poor performer. Not that I expect it to do Seinfeld numbers, but the demand for the show is out there and it has it's fans.

Re: Benson Season 1 07/24/07

Apparently the show doesn't have enough fans. We finally just finished season one (had it for a good year).. and sad to see there's nothing else. I guess by now there are no expectations that any more will ever be released, considering it's been over 2 years?

Clayton shows up in Season 2...that's when the show started to get really funny. I'm sure it will be bare bones, but if it's under $30, I'm in.
