Thank God You're Here -- 4/18/07 -- S. Elizabeth/G. Takei/T. Green/C. Handler

I could have sworn there was a thread for this show, but no matter how I search, it comes up with nothing.

Anyway, is anyone watching this show?

Toinight's guests:

Shannon Elizabeth
George Takei
Chelsea Handler
Tom Green

I just have to tune in tonight to see why the hell Shannon Elizabeth is on there.

I thought Harland Williams was the funniest so far. He was really into it.

It must be a requirement for all of the male guest starts to hit on/kiss the female ensemble cast members.

The other thread was a few pages back, the search here sucks:

Anyway, like I said before, I like this show a lot and hope that it sticks around.

I recently started watching the first season of the original Australian series, and I love it as well. I really like the performers on that show. Fifi Box is awesome!

Agreed. He was excellent, I hope they end up bringing back some of these people. I was disappointed with Brian Posehn, he just seemed way too nervous, and a lot of his blurted out responses just feel flat.

I'm looking forward to Tom Green. He's sort of been making a comeback lately, IMO. He's not as crazy as he used to be, which I think has made him funnier.

I like the show but the whole judge schtick with Dave Foley is pointless... Maybe I missed it, but has he ever said: "Eh, you really stank it up out there. Get the hell out of here!" He's always going to stay middle of the road no matter what and unlike Whose Line is it Anyways, they don't play up the judging thing as a joke ("The points don't matter").

I agree, that whole sketch with Posehn was just uncomfortably bad. Does he have any reputation with any other improv show?

It's like that on the original Australian version. I've watched about four of those episodes so far, and the judge acts just like what we've seen from Dave Foley.

I hope he is less crazy, as you said. Before I read that, I was going to say that I bet he'll be making stupid noises and saying dumb things that make no sense and trying to pass it off as comedy. But if he has changed things up, that hopefully won't be the case.

We'll see. I only have his appearances on the Tonight Show over the past couple years to go by. Also, I don't have fast enough internet yet, but apparently his show on his website that he broadcasts from his living room is pretty good.

Pretty funny tonight, except for Green. I just don't find him funny and he didn't disappoint me tonight. All the others were funny and that was surprising from Takei and Elizabeth considering they aren't comics.

Shannon was surprisingly good. Chelsea is funny though. Very quick wit. I need to catch her show more often.

Tom Green was just BAD!

He was great. He really made everyone else so far look amateur.

Can't wait for tonight's episode.

I used to like Tom Green. It was painful watching him on this. I seriously wanted to look away from the screen, I was embarrassed for him.

They re-ran this last night. Never had seen it before or even heard about it. I thought it was one of the most painful shows I've ever had to watch. I felt embarassed for every single person on it. Although contrary to the posts above, I thought Tom Green was one of the few good points in it - at least his repairman skit. George Takei was decent in the doctor skit. Shannon Elizabeth was just bad all around and Chelsea Handler couldn't have been less funny if she tried.
