Planet Earth - preorder for less than $45 shipped!

Ripped from SD, with kudos to BSC2321:

Barnes and Noble has it available for pre-order for $55.98. Use the 25% off code E9M4V7D (Thanks Selma) and it brings it down to 41.98 + Tax. Shipping is free. Lowest price I can find is $53.99 on Amazon

Link: Planet Earth - The Complete Series

The set contains the original U.K. broadcast version, including 90 minutes of footage not aired on the Discovery Channel's U.S. telecasts, and features narration by natural history icon David Attenborough.

Price may be even lower for Barnes and Noble Members.

Here are my order details:

Product Total: $55.98
Discounts: -$14.00
Shipping: Free
Estimated Tax: $2.94

Order Total: $44.92
That's the lowest I've seen it as well.

Enjoy!

Pre orders are usually shipped out on the day released and they are shipped via UPS so same week is a possibility according to where you reside ...

so April 24th is the day it will ship from BN not earlier...

hope that helped.

fantastic deal, and an incredible show. the problem i have is that i really believe that this show is what HD was invented for. i've been watching this on Discovery HD and it is just incredible. i do not have an HD player, but i will wait until i get one to purchase this show. wow, just wow

Well, if I keep my WB order, it probably won't ship until the other advance order is released in late May, so this is probably still better.

They just raised the price to $71.98. while I was ordering it !

I have it in my cart for 55.98 but when I try to check out the price jumps to 71.98.

I'm on the phone with a manager.

I was able to get for $41.29 with the discount. (probably the last person to)
They changed the price at 4:19 PM while the item was in my shopping cart.

Yes they have jacked most of their prices this week. As for the price increase, they apparantly have a computer program that raises prices on an item once it reaches a certain sale level.

This happens all the time with B&N to deals posted here on the forum. Dont get me wrong, for service I find them 2nd to none. But it is hard at times to find a deal.

OR....

Ripped from FW (w/kudos to mailfroggy):

best deal right now is at fye.com (better than Amazon, Buy.com, warner 10%+25%, familyvideo)

$74.99 - $10 Google Checkout (works only when product is available on 4/24 and after) - $10 rebate + free ship = $54.99 shipped (+tax in certain states)

link for blu-ray

link for HD-DVD

link for DVD = $34.99 shipped
The only issue is that you can't pre-order with Google Checkout....

It's 89.98 or $90 for HD or Blu-Ray which will be the first video I will buy in BR but not now. I can wait. I don't have a player yet but I do have the TV. It's going for $69 at DDD for the BR.

Just thought I'd confirm that the list price of Planet Earth is still 25% off ($59.98), and I was able to lower the price to $38.98 with the 25% off coupon and the 10% member discount -- a total savings of 51% off the list price.

Yeah, the price has been lowered again. It was $48 for me (don't have member discount, and had to pay close to $3 in tax). Got it for the wife's birthday.

Glad to get in on it this time. Got it for $48.13 (nonmember plus tax) which is still almost $6 cheaper than Amazon.
