This is the first episode Brian K. Vaughan has been credited for writing since joining the LOST writing team. Apparently he's big in comic book circles.

Wasn't there a Russian version of "Catch-22" somewhere that Mikael was reading? Or did I dream that up?
Can't wait!
EDIT: And hardercore, maybe I'm in the minority, but I would prefer you spoiler the episode description and who the flashbacks are about.

the show has been picking up considerable steam lately, and some of this character's (sorry - forgot spoilers) flashbacks have proven to be interesting at least - had no idea brian k. vaughan was joining the writing staff - thematically his Y the Last Man has a similar structure to lost, so this can only be a good thing in my books.

I didn't read Vegas' spoiler, so the spoilers for tonight may not be as significant.
A world a warning, these spoilers reveal some other things about the season and series in general, not just this ep, so read at your own risk:

Just finished the episode, and I really enjoyed it a lot. My favorite parts were:
Jin's Korean ghost story and the whistling of the men when they were marching on the beach. Funny stuff.
As for some of the spoilers above:
All seem legit, unlike previous weeks (like Rodrigo being shot). Marsha Thompson is the one in the parachute, and she knows Desmond, but we haven't seen her in any flashbacks yet.

That entire episode made me uneasy. Starting with "change pants" to "Will so-and-so die instead" to "Oh damn that sucks", hell even next weeks preview.
