DVD Talk review of 'Jamarama - Live!'

I read John Crichton's DVD review of Jamarama - Live! at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=25263 and...

I respectfully disagree with Mr. Crichton's conclusion. While his points on the optical and sound quality of the DVD are valid, I believe that he failed to recognize the extreme talent of The Ohmies!. The Ohmies! is a wonderful original creation from the minds of Ben Tollefson, Laurie Miller and Michael Weiss. The creative trio's concept incorporates yoga poses, exercise, dance and song to help children learn how to care for themselves, and how to deal with worries. One should view "The Ohmies-Surprise the Sun" DVD to fully understand and appreciate the concept. The story is simple: Penny is a butterfly who takes a pre-dawn journey to surprise the sun. The songs on Jamarama Live are only three excerpts from The Ohmies' full-length theatrical production incorporating the aforementioned concepts. The Ohmies is led onstage by the very talented Tara Hunnewell, who stars as Penny. Hunnewell's energy onstage is electric. Keep in mind that these performers are running, dancing, and singing all at the same time. That requires talent. Laurie Berkner and Milkshake are also very talented performers, and deserve credit for their stage presence...and I think Mr. Crichton gave credit there. One cannot fault the talent just because the DVD sound and optical quality is less than perfect. Remember, this was a live performance, and as such, audio and video will not be studio quality. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who has young children. My 3 year old daughter was dancing within the first 2 minutes, and did not stop until the show was over.
