Hansel and Gretel animated 1950's musical movie

There was an animated movie musical ( a la George Pal but NOT by him! ) made in the 1950's, this is available currently in an appalling transfer, are there any plans afoot to do this beautifully if slighty dated animated movie in a new crisp remastered version?

I'll second this, although I've never seen it. I'm a big stop-mo fan and read about it in an animation magazine over 20 years ago. I've been looking for it ever since.

Is the "appalling transfer" on DVD, or tape? I'd settle for almost anything right now.

This movie is, or at least was, available only on the defunct CED Videodisc format. Has a PD outfit put this out on DVD?

Amazon has it: Hansel and Gretel: An Opera Fantasy (1954)

http://www.amazon.com/Hansel-Gretel-...6677002&sr=1-4

I picked it up a couple of weeks back for the memories I had of it as a child. Very murky transfer on par with a duped video tape. But until someone revisits it with a better transfer, at least it's there.

I own that DVD release as well...very, very washed out colors, it's all a murky brown. Yuko.
