"Break My Stride" by Matthew Wilder -- can you sing it without messing up?
Songs like this are interesting, and they help to keep you on your toes. The 1984 hit song (peaked at #4 in Jan. 1984) by Matthew Wilder, Break My Stride, has the lyric:
Nobody's gonna break my stride, nobody's gonna slow me down...
but then sometimes the lyric changes, as so:
Nobody's gonna break-a my stride...
When you're singing along with the song, sometimes you say "break" when Wilder is saying "break-a," and vice-versa.
Did you ever get to a point when you knew the song so well that you never messed it up?

).
And to answer the question, the only part of the song I feel compelled to sing is "I sailed away to China / In a little rowboat to find ya".

OH, excuse me, how silly of me - just think of Puff Daddy doing his 1996 hit Can't Nobody Hold Me Down, which was sampled after Break My Stride.

Wilder moved to Los Angeles in 1978 and sang on TV commercials; he also became a backup vocalist for Rickie Lee Jones and Bette Midler. In 1983, Wilder released his first album, I Don't Speak the Language. "Break My Stride" reached the Top Ten in the U.S. However, Wilder's second LP, 1984's Bouncin' Off the Walls, flopped.
