Violence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon some dead bodies, a stash of heroin and more than $2 million in cash near the Rio Grande.
It's also screening at Cannes too. Great cast lined up, no major regulars but Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin are the big names.
I'm extremely excited for this one because it seems like this is the darkest Coen entry since Miller's Crossing (one of my all-time favorites). If so, it'll be the best movie they've done since The Big Lebowski.
Paramount Vantage is distributing. This is becoming the hot-ticket indie distributor it seems. Babel gets a Best Picture nomination, Black Snake Moan was my favorite movie of the year so far (so criminally underrated), they're handling There Will Be Blood (P.T. Anderson's next) and this...seems like the new Fox Searchlight to me.
Thoughts? People who read the book?

Another Coen Brothers movie will be filming soon - Burn After Reading.
Brad Pitt Joining Burn After Reading
Source: The Hollywood Reporter April 20, 2007
Brad Pitt has signed on to join his Ocean's 13 co-star George Clooney in the Coen brothers' Burn After Reading for Working Title Films.
The black comedy, which also stars Frances McDormand, centers on a CIA agent who loses the disc of the book he is writing. Like the film's title, the screenplay is shrouded in secrecy, and it is unclear what role Pitt will play.
The Hollywood Reporter says the actor will begin shooting the film in late August.
Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the screenplay, and Joel Coen will direct the contemporary project. Focus Features will distribute worldwide.

Cormac McCarthy is getting a lot of attention these days. Which is a good thing.
Have any of you read the scripts for "No Country for Old Men" or "Burn After Reading" yet? Someone emailed both of them to me the other day, but I haven't looked over em yet.

Thanks.
The clips were long enough to be possible spoilers so I just watched 20 seconds or so of each clip. It's not much to go on, but I'm loving the feel of the film. It looks like there's going to be some great performances and dialog here.
I can't wait to see this film. Hopefully this is a return to form for the Coen's after the last 2 subpar outings.

I just ordered the book so I can read it before the film is released here
This has been getting great word out of Cannes, with most calling it one of the Coens' best films. Which has me very excited.
