Warning: FYE.com and Google Checkout

Just a heads up... I placed in order in early March at FYE.com using google checkout. The item has been in stock (according to FYE.com), but the item has not shipped.

FYE.com has not returned any of my 4 e-mails (first asking why item didn't ship and recently asking for my money back -- since with google checkout you pay at time of purchase, someone has the money). Google has said I have to deal with FYE and they cannot do anything. But FYE continues to not respond to any of my queries.

I'm going to be placing a chargeback in the next couple days, but I wanted to let others know to be weary when dealing with the FYE/google combination... be prepared to pay and get nothing in return.

Just another case of google checkout making life more difficult when things go wrong...

I bought Casino Royale there through checkout and it took forever to get here. I think they use media mail. But if yours hasn't shipped yet that really sucks.

Eh, FYE customer service approaches total suckage all by themselves. Even if you did get a response back from them, you probably wouldn't be happy with it.

I've had to deal with a bunch of bonehead moves from FYE, but the straw that finally broke the camel's back was when I placed an order for a ton of discounted and rebated items and they could not figure out how to process the charge, back and forth on the phone and in email for a couple of weeks until finally I got somebody who absolutely, guaranteed, cross-his-heart-and-hope-to-die promised that it would be fixed by the end of the week.

That Friday I got an email saying they had cancelled my entire order. Of course the sale was long gone so I was left high and dry.

Google was stupid to get into bed with FYE in the first place.

Its not because of Google Checkout...It's all FYE! I placed an order on their website for "High Tension" dvd last summer....when it was like 7.99 or something, and they kept emailing me that it wasn't in...WHEN IT SAID "IN STOCK". I think FYE sucks, mainly due to the lying (It's not like High Tension is a RARE dvd or anything). I had that order in for over 8 MONTHS!!! Then finally had to cancel it. What a joke.

I got screwed on 2 mail in rebates from FYE and they never bothered to answer an email about it, so I am done with them.
