Anyone else get addicted to single shows (watching it daily) ?

I find myself getting addicted to shows that are either 1) in sindication, or 2) on dvd.
Usually it starts out by me watching sindicated shows. These shows are such that they would not hold my interest when shown weekly, but when shown daily, it becomes a part of my life.
Like seven days, nash bridges, smallville, gilmore girls etc.

And when I'm watching these shows, I wont watch anything else.

I started watching West Wing on CLT in Canada after never seeing a single episode during its regular run. Tonight's episode is the last of the third season. I'll keep watching as long as they continue to air them, and if they stop, I'll buy the DVDs to finish the series.

That's how I first got into ER. For the first 5 or 6 years, I never watched it. Then I started watching two syndicated episodes a day on TNT. Within a few months, I was all caught up. I have since stopped watching though.

Also did the same to a lesser extent with Mad About You and The King of Queens.

Back in the early 90's I first discovered Wings when it went into syndication on USA. They were playing 2 episodes in the early evening and 2 more at night and there were still new episodes on NBC. There were days where I could watch 5 episodes in one day (long before TV on DVD showed up).

Scrubs. I have the first four seasons on DVD, but my wife and I still usually watch both episodes shown on Comedy Central each night.

I started watching it on the WB, bailed during season 3 I think, and then got hooked and watched the entire series on TBS.

Friends and Simpsons.

I have rarely watched new episodes when they aired, but always watched on syndication.

I did this with Buffy (on FX) and Babylon 5 (on TNT) about 5-7 years ago. But haven't done it much since then, because of how cheap the TV on DVD boxset became, but the main problem is finding the time to watch it all.

when I was a teenager, I started watching Beverly Hills 90201 every day after school. Never once saw a new episode when it aired (I couldn't even tell you what day it was on)

A year or two ago the Sci-fi Channel started showing Quantum leap every morning and I watched the entire series in a matter of a couple of months. (really helped me appreciate the finale more after having seen the premire not too long before)

I've been watching The Simpsons every evening for about 10 years. I've seen all the older episodes at least 3 times, yet every once in a while Fox will play "new" episodes and I'll catch ones from the past few years that I've never seen.

I watched Dawson's Creek all the way through its run, but now that Katie Holmes is married to Tom Cruise its just not the same.

Currently its Charmed... Always figured this was the worst show ever made. But when I was in Florida last, I began watching them during the day on TNT and now I cant get enough. I ended up buying season 3-7 on dvd and finished it up this past weekend. Couldnt wait for them to release S8, so went ahead and ordered from Australia.

I also enjoy ER this was...

Recently I started watching L&O SVU again. It's on 2-3 times a day on USA.

I stopped watching it a few years ago because I found it too dark and depressing. It still is but I enjoy it more and I haven't seen most of the episodes. Even ones I have seen seem new - I don't remember them.

I used to watch the regular L&O every day on A&E. I've seen the older episodes many times each and none of the newer ones - newer being the past 4 or 5 years.

I just did this with Dawson's Creek. The draw of the teen soap, something I had never seen before, was so strong that I ended up doing the same on DVD with Felicity. I enjoyed that too, but what fascinated me was how similar the plots of the 2 shows were. Maybe it was just chance, or maybe those are the standard teen soap plots.

Now I'm watching Season 5 of The Shield in 2 marathon sittings so I'll be caught up for Season 6 starting tomorrow.

just because of my schedule, i do see myself doing the same. Mostly because these are shows that i can have on in the background as I'm doing other things. For me, its ER, West Wing (in the past, i dn't see it on Bravo anymore), Scrubs, Friends, that 70 show, CSI (damn you SPike) and pretty much all of the Law and ORders.

Scrubs and King of Queens...I like shows that stand on their own and you dont have to follow the plot to enjoy the show.

I barely have time to watch Tivod shows but I did get addicted to 24 a few years back and was watching 2-3 episodes a night but that was during the summer when nothing else was on.

I got hooked on The Practice during college. If I was up by 11, that was on. One semester I had a 9:50 class that ended at 11:10...so I left early.

I got hooked on Heroes too. Missed the season premier so I never started watching it, then a few weeks ago I was home sick for 2 days and I watched every episode on NBC.com, completely hooked. Then I discovered that there isn't a new episode until April 22

Watched Judging Amy on TNT a few months ago. Went through all the episodes and it was an enjoyable show. Two episodes per day five days a week is a quick way to get through a show.

Supernatural- I watch one episode of season two and decided to go out and buy season one on dvd without seeing a single episode. I watch the whole season in less than a week and now its one of my favorite shows on the CW. It better comeback for a third season or I will never watch anything on their network again.
