Thought I would post this, from the first DVD most people ever saw:

They called it a "Digital Video Disc"...I thought it was a Digital Versatile Disc...

It was initially named "Digital Versatile Disc" which I thought was dumb. Panasonic may have chosen to call it "Digital Video Disc" instead - which makes more sense to me.

Digital Video Disc - Audio????

I dunno. DVD-A didn't come out until later, they probably just added the "A" on.
