I've heard both good and bad about this film...but the trailer looks good and I loved Training Day. I know people have been saying how awful the cover art is, but i kinda like it. What's your opinions on the film/disc? Would this be a horrible blind buy, or should I chance it?

Definately do NOT blind buy, make sure you watch it first. It is a love it or hate it film, and personally I loathed it. Terrible TERRIBLE script, hearing Bale try to say things like "LATERZ HOMEY" in an intense voice just does NOT work.

i on the other hand enjoyed, but i do agree it's probably a like or don't without an in between with it.

(i didn't pick it up at the 19.99 price point and won't either)

Bale is a very hard sell in this role..
Trainging Day was OK to Good but an Oscar.... naw..

Yeah, rent it. I actually liked Bale but that was about it for the movie. I still don't understand what Eva Longoria was doing in this, it was a thankless role...

You have to take it in context. Bale's character is a white guy who hangs out in LA with mostly mexican gang bangers and street thugs. It seems to me that his character did not grow up there and it was only later on life that he started to hang out with those people. He isn't supposed to be 100% convincing saying stuff like that because his character isn't.

I liked the acting but there's not much of a story, so it felt a bit pointless. RENT.
