Jeez. I am sorely dissapointed with how barebones this dvd is. A Spielberg film of this magnitude should've been at LEAST 2-Disc set with a plethora of features the likes of Gladiator! WTF Spielberg/Paramount? No commentray either? UGH!!

Is it safe to assume there'll be a new SE coming out soon?

I think a limited 2-disc edition was released at the same time as yours.

There is a 2 Disc Edition for War of the Worlds. It came out the same day as the 1 Disc.

Still available: http://www.amazon.com/War-Worlds-Wid...3818051&sr=1-3

Don't look for a commentary by Spielberg tho. He doesn't do them.

I picked up the 2 disc limited at release and the extras are well worth the extra cash. It was hard to find after the first couple of weeks. I guess it was really limited. Well worth it IMO.

I have the 2-disc LE and while the extras were okay I was disappointed to find no trailers for the movie.

That should answer your questions.

You realize that only took me not even a minute to look up.

Or with another minute he could look them up at dvdcompare.net and get an even more detailed list of extras.

Oh, and for the record, I think Flags Of Our Fathers is the worst barebones DVD ever. It looks like War Of The Worlds has at least one featurette on it.

Wal-Mart had an exclusive bonus disc packaged with some of the single disc release. It had a couple of SPFX featurettes not found on the 2-disc Limited Ed.

I owned both the LE and the Wal-Mart disc, and there were only two features on the Wal-Mart DVD. One was "Pre-Visualization", which is indeed on the 2-disc set. The other one, "HBO First Look", was not.

My memory may be faulty, but I think...

The Pre-Visualizatin segment on the 2-disc covers a different sequence in the film than the Pre-Vixualization segment on the Wal-Mart bonus disc.
