Favorite comic book character?

Right now I have two favorites....Hulk and Daredevil. That may change the more I get into comics, but from what i have read so far -- i love these guys.

Right this moment? Daredevil. A few months ago; Spider-man. A few years ago; Fantastic Four or Thor. When I was a kid; Superman. I'm fickle.

Spider-Man's been top of my pops since 1982, no matter what they've done to him.

Based on the title I simply can't list one. Acutally based on the title, and the OP's post , he can't do it either.

Manhunter..I love this girl. She's hasn't pussed out in terms of kicking ass and taking out baddies like the rest of the DCU.

Hawkgirl..another awesome female character.

Looking at my collection, and his steady presence throughout my 29 years of life, I would have to say HULK. This is based soley on the comics, as I haven't enjoyed his TV or movie appearances much at all, aside from possibly the cheese factor of the TV stuff.

A close 2nd would be Captain America.

Coming in at 3rd, is my old friend the Punisher.

Honorable mention goes out to Spidey, who would have ranked higher but his books have just been garbage for too long.

Up until about '92 it was Wolverine, followed closely by Nightcrawler and Iron Man.

But nowadays, it's tough to have a favorite character because they ALL behave so inconsistantly. It now seems like they are being written by editor/commitee than actual writers. Their behavior is more and more dictated by plot than by their character and who their supposed to be.

You know I've never given this much thought, but you're dead on about this. It has actually become quite frustrating, but it wasn't until I read your post that the idea was articulated in my mind. It often times also seems that these characters don't grow (or mature?) at all regardless of the fantastic situations they face on a regular basis.

You sir a true scholar and gentleman.

Spider-man, although they've ruined him with outing his identity as Peter Parker to the public.
