¡Hola Otters!
Sorry I've been so scarce recenty, but after all of kvrdave's unwanted advances, I just felt like I needed to stay away for a while. The man just doesn't seem to understand that no means no!!!
Anyway, I learned "through the grapevine" today that one of my old schoolmates has a shot at winning a pretty big contest for her business c/o Microsoft and I thought, well if this isn't a job for Otterville, I don't know what is (well, except for propogating an endless number of "Caption This" threads ;) ).
Here's the details from the email that got forwarded to me:Hi!
I wanted to tell you about some really big news that is happening to me. Last November I entered a contest being held by Microsoft to promote their new Accounting software. Microsoft is looking for the best small business idea in the USA and I have been selected as one of 4 finalists. If I win, I receive 100,000 (USD) a retail space in New York City plus the accounting software and support for the year.
The reason I am writing is to ask if you will vote for me to help me win? The online voting is part of the overall decision and is taking place now at www.ideawins.com
Also if you get the Today show on television you can watch the winner being chosen live on air either on March 12 or 13...exact date to be announced. I will let you know as soon as I know.
Cheers and thank you for your support. Her name is Given Campbell (she was the first finalist when I looked at the site).
Now, I don't know if there are any issues with soliciting votes on a public forum, so I'm not specifically asking you to vote for her, but, honestly, I personally think her business idea is the best of the four (all biases aside). If you think otherwise, feel free to vote as such (like I could stop you :p ), but if any of you guys would be willing to send a vote her way in your spare time, I'm sure she would appreciate it.
Thanks Otters!! :D
