The OC - "The End Is Not Near, Its Here" 2/22/07
I feel honored to start what is the last thread on one of my favorite shows ever. I am really going to miss all of the Seth bantar, all of the drama, all of the Cohen comraderie. I still am mad this didn't go on for a full 5 seasons, but I will sadly watch one of my favorite shows get put six feet under tonight.
RIP The OC

Its going to be sad. Its rare when I watch a entire series from start to finish. I usually only try 1-3 new shows a year..I tried this one, and it gave me 4 years. 2 of them not so good, but still.
Will be sad that its over.

I'll admit that I finally jumped ship by not watching anything from this season (sans the last episode), but I'm definately going to be watching the Finale tonight - I can't believe its over

I almost don't want to watch it...then it won't be over for me. Weird logic, maybe.
Of course, I will watch it though. lol.
I know I am gonna cry my eyes out. I'm a chick like that.

A colleague of mine's fiancee is the PR person for this show. From what he's learned from her and hanging out on the set is the pretty much the entire cast and Josh Schwartz are relieved the show is coming to an end. I know Melinda Clarke has already locked up a new pilot on CBS.

Hell, I'm just gonna go out on limb and say that was pretty awesome! Well done folks, well done. A nice way to wrap up a return to form season, and the entire series. Quite possibly the best series finale I've seen since Six Feet Under.
Yeah, that's right - I said it. Agree, or don't, I was left satisfied.

That is how you send off the whole clan for a series finale. People got to stay true to their character, but yet things still worked out in the end for them.

Hanoi.
That was the best Seth/Summer interaction in 2 seasons. Summer worrying about her TIVO was a turn-on.
Good wrap-up, although it looks like Julie was practicing polygamy.

Same here. I thought it was the right way to end it. I did feel a little lost at the beginning, however.

This episode definately sucked me back into the series, and I am actually sad to see it go, but I really like the way it ended - especially with the babies and the wedding. But on the flip side I really think the final frame should have been on Seth, Ryan, Summer, and Marissa...

Great series finale. Josh Schwartz wrote a solid episode. I chuckled at another one of Josh's pop culture references "Brief case or no Brief Case?" I loved the final scene with Ryan seeing himself in that kid sitting at his work place.
Well, from the looks of things, I think most of the cast should have new gigs next year whether in film or TV. Melinda Clarke's already moved on to a CBS pilot and Adam Brody's got a new movie coming out.

Great series finale. I'm glad they ended it now, i was halfway off the ship when they annoucned that it was wrappig up, so I stuck with it for the last 8 eps.
All in all nicely done. And a nice homage to 6' under.

One of the best finales I've ever seen. It offered up a few twists(the beginning had me really confused), wrapped up just about every plot thread imaginable with the ending montage, and was well written and acted enough to remind me why I never gave up on the show.
It stinks that Fox basically killed off the series this season, but at least it went out on top. Hell, last May I almost wanted it to get cancelled since it was sucking so hard.
Loved all the pop culture references. The Valley was mentioned again as was the real-life breakup of two actors on that show(an obvious allusion to Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson calling it quits recently) and "Briefcase or No Briefcase" was a nice touch. I loved Bullit's return. Someone give that character his own spinoff. Hell, he's got a dozen kids. There are plenty adventures they could find themselves in.

Reminded me a lot of that look between Manny and Gina at Tony Montana's wedding in Scarface. And we know how well that one ended.

I was actually let-down by the finale last night. I did enjoy the final segment and the final scene with Ryan and the little kid.
The first 50 minutes though...so we jump ahead how many months during Kirsten's pregnancy? During that time, the Cohen's hadn't had the damage to their house appraised...where did they live?
Julie choose neither Frank or Bullit because she wanted her and her daughter to be happy together...even when it was just a few episodes back when she recognized Bullit made her daughter the most happy?
I liked it best when this show was light-hearted and such, but the whole Berkeley house sub-plot was too cheesy for my liking.
