Good question. How have the stores/sales associates defined "regular prices" in the past? Have they permitted use of the coupons for items listed in the circular that were put on sale that week?

Thanks!

The Best Buys near me never do. But then again, I've heard a lot of people on this forum say that they do honor the coupons on sale items.

I guess it depends how nice/stupid the person at the register is.

I have never been refused using it on a sale price of a DVD. The only time I was ever refused using a coupon on a sale item was on Black Friday... Definitely YMMV. Pay attention to the name tags of the cashiers. They tell you what year they started. I try to go to newer cashiers, not the veterans... If their name is a sticker, they are brand new! Go to them first.

The Best Buys near me have a pretty high employee turnover rate. I am sure that has something to do with the fact that they always let me use the coupons on new releases. I also use them on electronic and computer components/products that are on sale without any problems.

If you scan the coupon with a sale priced DVD it will take the discount off. But as others said, if you get an anal cashier and they know its on sale they won't scan it. You could try buying stuff that isnt on sale in addition to the sale item, and just return that stuff later.

These coupons always work on new releases despite them saying otherwise. Plus, Best Buy employees don't care.

There's a high turnover rate because it's retail.

The cashier kept trying to tell me the 10% off a dvd was only for reward zone members. There is mention of reward zone on one of the coupons, but not the particular one I was using. She eventually caved and let me have it - but who was right? Her or me?

I'm the OP and I get these periodically because I filled out a survey one time on bestbuy.com I do also happen to be a reward zone member, but I think that it's unrelated discount

you

the coupon for 10% off dvds/cds/games is good regardless of RZ membership - the coupon for the "most categories" is 10% off w/o RZ and 12% w/RZ or BBY CC.

Everytime I get sale DVD's the cashiers are astonished - I think I convinced one girl to pick up Titanic when it was $7. They're always surprised. Too bad I won't be going there for a few days, def not by tomorrow.
