Is the LOST 10PM EST time slot going to kill the show?
I made this its own thread because this is not related to a particular episode.
I time shift the show so I could skip the 20 minutes of commercials.
It seems that by the time I end the show it is 11:30 and time to go to bed. I find myself nodding off.
With the old time slot the show would end at 10:20 (time shifted) - I could get more excited about the show...
between 10 - 11 PM at night I don't want to "think" I want to be told a "story" or lightly "Entertained" in 1 hr (Comedy Central, News shows, Cop/Hospital Dramas) ... Lost is a "thinking" show, you need to pay attention to details if you want to get the most out of the show. You can't pay attention if you are nodding off or drained from the day.
Does anyone here agree with me?

isn't the whole point of 'time-shifting' so that you can still watch the show semi-live and have it end at the same time as the rest of the world?
i don't understand why if you're skipping commercials, it's taking you 20-30 minutes longer to watch than everyone else.
start watching at 10:18. you'll be done at 11 like everyone else...

I think it will fare better than putting two water cooler shows against each other (American Idol). Plus it always seemed weird watching another hour long drama after Lost. That show works much better as an end cap to prime time.

The reason I run "late" on my time shifting is that I timeshifted other shows earlier.
So If I want to watch something that starts at 8:30
Start watching at 9pm
Knights 9-9:20
Idol 9:30 - 10:10
Lost 10:30 - 11:10
Start times may differ - I go to the bathroom, get ready for bed, get stuff ready for next day, make lunch etc. between start times of each show.

It'll be back to 9:00 next season. ABC just doesn't have anything good for Lost to lead into at the moment. Plus, I agree that 10:00 is too late for a show that demands 100% focus. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't have to be at work until noon.

What is going to kill the show is they keep adding more and more questions and not totally answer existing ones to leave the viewer confused and they'll eventually give up on it. X-Files syndrome.

I had my reservations about ABC moving Lost to 10 pm, and so far after one week my concerns have been realized.
Date (w/e) Viewers in millions:
10/08/06 18.82
10/15/06 16.89
10/22/06 16.31
10/29/06 17.09
11/05/06 16.07
11/12/06 17.15
02/11/07 14.49 (CSI:NY had 14.97 million viewers)
Now that is a huge drop off of viewers. It will be interesting to see how many millions of viewers they will have for the remaining episodes. And if the storylines continue to be mediocre (imho) at best, their #'s will drop even more.

And here are the ratings for last nights episode.
I wouldn't be surprised if ABC moves it to 8 pm to get more viewers back.

At 9 p.m., "American Idol" pared its field to 24 semifinalists, scoring a 16.1/24 in the process. CBS got a 9.6/14 from "Criminal Minds." NBC stayed in third with "Deal or No Deal," 6.3/9, while a repeat of "Lost" posted a 3.2/5 for ABC. The CW went with "One Tree Hill."
CBS took the lead at 10 p.m. with "CSI: NY," 9.4/15. With no lead-in to speak of, "Lost" managed only a 7.6/12, its lowest rating ever for a new episode. NBC's "Medium" came in at 5.7/9.

I wish the time slot was this shows biggest problem.
The goddamn dragged out storylines are going to kill the show, not the time slot.
Are you sure you're just not dozing off because it's boring, or it's definitely because of the time slot?
Wait for the DVDs...

The problem is by the time the producers get the "wake up call" (if they haven't already) and start plotting episodes where more is revealed and the story advances more, it may be too late to get all those lost (pardon the pun) viewers back.
I think Lost already has one foot in the grave. I say it's probably a safe bet now that Season 4 will be the last...assuming they can make it that far. (If ratings continue to drop, I wouldn't be shocked if ABC cancelled the series, but offered JJ a 2-hour movie or multi-part mini-series to wrap things up).

10 pm is a pretty shitty time slot, don't think it'll kill the show (last night's ep I still hold Valentines Day responsible).
Last season the show averaged 14m viewers against American Idol, this season it'll likely average 14m viewers after American Idol. And why is AI at 9pm on Wednesdays again? You'd figure Fox would use it as lead-in. (Oh that's right... live results.)

Everything runs an hour earlier in Hawaii -- "Lost" is now on at 9:00. (Most "regular hour" workshifts start at 7:30 a.m.) I still prefered it an hour earlier, though. "Lost" is no longer the must-watch-immediately show it once was for me, so sometimes I don't even watch it the same night.
