Animation featuring characters comparable to Aardman's "Purple and Brown," or ...?
..Aardman's "Purple and Brown," or Don Hertzfeldt's fluffy lil' cloud people?
Two very similar senses of humor: extremely basic, relatively easily animated characters offering hearty laughs via the random situations they're constantly thrown into.
Can anybody think of anything at all similar?

It's not a movie, but the first picture reminds me of the PC game, The Neverhood.
One of my favorite scenes from the game:

The Neverhood was really an underappreciated series, it was very creative, even if a bit kiddie at times, and very funny.
A dumb, kinda funny cutscene from the followup (Skullmonkeys):

A few others:

But I can't really think of actual movies, I figure it'd work great as a short but not so much in any extended format.
