(DEAD) Amazon.com $5 off everything!!

$5 discount applied at checkout. Dont have to do anything, its just there, and it works for multiple orders too. You just have to place seperate orders for single items to maximize the discount. Found this in the game thread at cheapassgamer.com, but it doesnt just work for games, works for movies too and probably everything. I picked up Departed HD-DVD and Casino Royale blu-ray. Free shipping still counts if the item is over $25 before discount.

Looks like your right. Good find. Not sure why they have the promo, but they do. Strong work.

Hmm.. It's a promotional discount, just like a certain recent Amazon sale. I'm staying the hell away from this one.

Even though I was affected by the last Amazon snafu, it didn't bother me as much as it did others, so I gave this a shot, and ordered the Frank Capra Collection for $36.49.

Thanks OP!

I just placed a bunch of preorders. If they cancel or they warn people about charging them, not big deal, I'll just cancel.

There are deals to be had, if you're willing to take the chance. The latest release of The Jerk is $3.97/shipped.

Does anyone know if this $5 discount works on orders placed if you start at Borders (www.borders.com)? I have Borders gift cards I'd like to use up if this discount works for that.

They'll prolly ship you the items and then send you an email a week later saying you have to return them or they will charge your credit card $5 extra for each order.

Just checked (didn't finalize an order, just went to the final checkout screen) and the discount does apply with Borders sales, as well.

I placed one order for 2 items. It didn't make sense to do 2 separate orders since shipping was 2.98 on each. I would only save $4.04 total between them! So I ordered them together and saved $5

Not working for me. Either it's dead, doesn't work for Prime members or I'm doing something wrong.

Doesn't seem to let you me do it more than once. I tried placing a second order (for books this time) for $27.99 and it showed the $5 coupon applied again, but when I selected the free shipping (otherwise it would have been an extra $4.98) the $5 went away, I backed up and selected it again and it showed up and the total was only $22.99, but then when I got my confirmation email, the $5 was not there and it was back to being $27.99. I canceled and went to place again but now it won't show up at all.
