Platforms Unite! (except handhelds) The top 10 most anticipated games of 2007.

Game trailers put together an awesome preview video of the most anticipated games of 2007.

I think the list is pretty good. A good mix of worthy sequels as well as brand new IPs.

Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect and Bioshock all make me glad I have a 360. I may wind up getting Halo 3 and GTA4 as well.

Metroid makes me wish I had a Wii.

You know, watching video of MGS4 gives me no desire to play it.

Could it possibly be that I'm finally burnt out on it? Nani? NOOO.

Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon and Halo 3 are on my to get list, BioShock is on my Must Have list.

Fairly good list. No PS3 exclusives though, which i thought was interesting.

It's a solid list. This is probably going to be my biggest year for gaming. My top 10 anticipated titles:

1. Bioshock
2. Assassins Creed
3. Halo 3
4. Super Mario Galaxy
5. Burnout 5
6. the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
7. Metroid Prime: Corruption
8. The Darkness
9. Half Life 2: Orange
10. Dead Rising 2(?) - hopefully, would be higher if there was a confirmation

Good list, but most of what I'm looking forward to are handheld games.

10. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (Wii)
9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)
8. Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
7. Crysis (PC)
6. Bioshock (PC, Xbox 360)
5. GTA IV (Xbox 360, PS3)
4. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
3. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
2. Assassins Creed (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)
1. Halo 3 (Xbox 360)

So here is the break down by System

Xbox 360 - 5
PC - 3
Wii - 3
PS3 - 3

Exclusives (or at least listed as such for now)
Wii - 3
Xbox - 2
PS3 - 1
PC - 1

So just based on this limited list it seems like the systems to own this year are the Xbox 360 and the Wii.

Since it is a "console war" I'd have to say that Bioshock would count towards 360 exclusivity. That and Crysis seems out of place in this console list.

Thanks guys

That's a disgustingly good looking list of games. I will probably be getting 8 out of the 10 Possibly Nine if I get my ass in gear and Upgrade my PC (I've neglected the hell out of it for a long time and need to replace basically everything except the monitor).

Add a few really good DS games and I'm going to be busy as hell.

BTW how is it that Unreal Tournament 3 doesn't make the top 10? craziness I say.

Metroid Prime, Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros are day 1 buys for me.

If I had a 360 I'd be interested in Mass Effect and Halo 3.

Other games I don't have much or any interest in.

Not mentioned in the article is John Woo's Stranglehold. That looks promising -- I mean, who wouldn't want to play a game that plays like a John Woo movie? I hope it delivers.

Another interesting looking game is Two Worlds (PC/XBox), which seems very much in the vein of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

I'll never understand the Halo love. I can't deny that exists but the games have never impressed me.

10. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (Wii)
9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)
8. Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
6. Bioshock (PC, Xbox 360)
4. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
2. Assassins Creed (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)
1. Halo 3 (Xbox 360)

These are all definately on my list, although in different orders and there are other games I am more interested in not listed.

I am surprised God of War II did not make the list. Listening to the video though, it is likely only because it is not next-gen, since the narrator was all about "redefining" this and "innovating" that.

That was my assumption too especially since the game made an appearance in the intro portion of the video.

No God of War 2?
Just because it's on an old console doesn't mean you should ignore what looks to be a most impressive game.

Just smash bros and maybe Metroid Prime here. I don't like FPS games on consoles, for the most part, and a lot of these are FPS (Although I'm playing Gears of War right now). But Metroid on the Wiimote, I'm up for that.

I'm not a fan of 3D platformers, so no Mario Galaxy interest here but my wife might want it. Mass Effect looks OK but I just don't have the RPG time any more. I haven't even played DQ8 through and I'm a big DQ fanboy. And I don't understand the buzz for Assassin's Creed at all.

As for me, I'm all over Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Galaxy. I just hope that stupid Wii Sonic game is gonna be good ... but it probably won't be.

Stranglehold does look interesting, but it is a licensed game, and most licensed games end up sucking.

Have you ever played the Max Payne series? They are heavily inspired by John Woo movies. In fact, there is even a John Woo joke in the first game.

I think most of the Halo love comes from it being the first ever online multiplayer console shooter. Most Halo lovers never even played an online game before Halo, so they were drooling all over that. I never liked playing online and I found singleplayer Halo to be very bland, so I never cared for the game either.

The buzz comes from it being "the next game from the Prince of Persia team."

God of War 2 is definitely the big game for me, I'll be buying a PS2 again when it comes out.
Halo has never been very interesting to me, but I'm sure I'll end up buying Halo 3 as something to play with friends...
GTA IV will be a must, I've never been disappointed in the series.
I'm hyped for MGS 4, but it definitely isn't enough for me to pull the trigger on a PS3.
The other stuff is interesting, and once I have a Wii I will definitely pick up Smash Bros. and Mario.

Ah, I see. I haven't gotten around to playing Sands of Time, so I guess that would be a good place to start.
