The preview for this episode made it looks very different from past episodes. Curious to see how the episode plays out.

So the Angel turns out to be just a Spirit.

The car chase at the end was pretty good - one of the few times we've been able to see the Impala "really" in action!

The preview looks like the next episode brings a similar "self-delusion" theme closer to home.

BTW, I found this good fan site on Supernatural:

Winchester Journals

(Pretty useful for finding out the names of the Rock songs used in different episodes)

I liked this episode. Even though it was a stand alone episode, it still kept with the overall plot of this season about the "big war" coming and Sam's turn to evil.

It's nice to see the boys not fighting another demon or evil spirit and turning to some "divine" themes and topic.

BTW, was that Bob Dylan's version of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" at the end?

Yes

Good episode and a god change of pace from them fighting evil every week.

Speaking of the music in the show, they always play some great classic rock songs. Is there a soundtrack available for this show?

Except why did they change the style the show used to have? There were no metal "SHUNK" swells before blacking out for commercial and the opening was different too - no "THEN" and "NOW" like they've been doing all season long. I hope they're not gone for good!

I actually like the whole "THEN" and "NOW" opening. It allows "first-time" viewers to start from any point during the season.

I really hope the WB decides to pursue some High Definition releases with Supernatural. Definitely a huge difference (especially in the sound dept) from watching on HD and SD.
