High Stakes Poker

Watched it for the first time in about a year last night. I think it does the best job of televising the actual hands, but it needs some sort of beginning or end or climax or something (even though real table games don't have em). When the hour is up, I'm a bit unfulfilled.

I've watched it here and there, I don't understand why they have those huge chunks of cash and the chips.

Is it for a dramatic effect?

they aren't chips. They are silver and gold pieces.

But yeah, I would say it's for dramatic effect
