No follow-up to Advent Rising?

I just rented/finished this over the week (kind of fun, but short and it seems like 1/2 the time was cinematics...). Anyway it ends w/ a "to be continued..." but looking around it seems like a follow-up was never made. Is that correct or is something still expected?

It was planned as a trilogy, IIRC. It tanked so it is doubtful the other two will be made.

I just picked it up a couple days ago for $5. Unfortunately it isn't on the BC list so it is just a coaster right now.

Yep. Advent Rising suffered the same fate as Beyond Good & Evil. Both were planned to be a trilogy and both had poor sales, so both trilogy projects were scrapped.

Forget a sequel, Advent Rising can't even get backwards compatibility with the Xbox 360.

I guess what's even more surprising is the fact Card was involved w/ the story line yet there's no novelization of it... oh well. Thanks for the info.

Well actually he was supposed to write a series of novels too, but they were cancelled along with the sequel games. There was a mini comic book series that was released though if I remember correctly.
