Went into CVS today. They have all their DVD's at 75% off. They have a few good higher end ones. I got a disney one for $5 and a few others for $2 -$2.50. Most of them are originally priced at $9 to $10. Some movies were junk. Most are what you would find in Columbia House's $14.95 or less section.

I was told by the manager that it should be at them all except maybe the locations that they recently bought & converted from other drug retailers. Haven't had the chance to check any others yet.

I have a "bought and converted" CVS down the road from me. I never go in it. I'll run down and check it out now so I can report back on it. I'm really bored and wide awake anyhow.
Update:
I *think* they were having the sale. It's hard to tell though because all they had left was about 20 copies of The Cat In The Hat (live action) red stickered at 75% off.
I passed.
It might be worth checking out your local store though even if it is a converted Rite Aid (or whatever).

Yes, they were 50% a couple weeks ago. I snagged Lady and the Tramp for $11. And I had a $10 extra care coupon to bring it down to $1. :D
The person at CVS said they were going to stop carrying dvds.

Also check the Rewards Card table.
Its where you sign up for their
discount card. Card is free.
They have $2 off of $10 purchase coupons.
(excludes booze, smokes & drugs)
If you do not see them ask the cashier.
Again it maybe a YMMV.
Mine are remodeling so they are also
giving away some items, like water bottles
& xmas stuff left over.
I picked up enough wrapping paper for years.

Not really related, but I have find memories of the old People's Drug stores. As a kid, they were my primary source for candy, birthday and mother's day gifts, and comic books.

They should still scan the discounted prices even if they don't have the signs up. The stores that don't have the correct discounted signs up may still have the best prices available. Have the cashier scan a couple to check before assuming they won't ring up at 75% off.
Also if no ones mentioned yet CD's are also 75% off. Nothing great but a lot of older "best of" titles.

not that this matters, but:
osco = savon. they are both owned by the parent company, american stores. same thing then with jewel = albertsons = acme and i'm sure there are more in there somewhere.
cvs purchased all STAND ALONE osco's. you will still see them in with jewels or whatever else they call themselves. there was a big rebranding a few years back.
to add to the actual thread, i'm traveling on the road and went to a CVS here in the Philly area (King of Prussia) and didn't see squat. no dvds in site.

The Barbie Diaries
Black Beauty
Charlie's Angels 2
Conspiracy Theory
Erin Brockovich
Matchstick Men
Necessary Roughness
Pleasantville
Runaway Bride

The Terminal
2 Wiggles DVDs
I've been to 8-9 stores already. I felt pretty lucky to be at one that it's sign still said 50% off but they rang up at the 75% off price. After this is over, I'll probably never set foot in a CVS again. The nearest CVS is at least 10 miles away from home, but in the city they're relatively close to each other. The Producers (original)
Jerry Maguire
The Astronaut's Wife

The Muppets Take Manhattan
Paid between $1.50 and $2.50 for each of them. Not too shabby. One of the stores had displays for Cars and POTC, but the salesperson said someone had just come in and bought all the copies. Couple of notes from my two store CVS foray tonight:
The Herndon store had the largest collection of VHS that I've seen in years. There must have been 200+ tapes there. (All 75% off!!)
I found a few minor wants like Stripes and Taps for a couple bucks each after discount, but thought I really scored by finding a pile of dollar DVDs of titles that I actually wanted. 25 cents for some cool monster and abbott&costello double features! But, alas, they refused to take the 75% off those dollar titles. Looking back, I should have bought them anyway, as they really were titles I would have watched.....

I've went to 3 different CVS stores in the Cincinnati area and none of their DVDs were marked with a discount sign...
yet ALL three stores were indeed selling their entire stock of DVDs at 75% off!
When I took a DVD to the counter to ask the clerk for a price check he said, "I can already tell you the price on that one; it's $5.50".
At one store, a number of DVDs were on a free-standing, wire rack in the middle of an aisle but the newer ones were still located behind the counter. At another store, the DVDs had been moved to a locked, glass cabinet next to the men's razor blades and shaving cream!!
Bottom line: you must look around for the DVDs (or simply ask a clerk to point them out to you).
Most of the remaining DVDs were full-screen so I skipped them:
Friday Night Lights
Shrek 2
Failure to Launch (4 my mom)
Shark Tale (4 my nephew)
Master of Disguise
Monster House
Rugrats Movie
Oh... I asked the store manager why the DVDs were 75% off and she said, "Well, we can hardly sell the DVDs we get and they just sit around forever so they've decided to stop carrying them".
I mentioned that a lot of stores are able to send back unsold DVDs/CDs to their distributor and have them replaced with newer (or more popular) choices. This is a common practice for Walmart and Target. But she said CVS doesn't work that way.
I guess I could have also mentioned that CVS didn't exactly promote DVD sales by keeping their stock behind the counter where the customer couldn't view the titles or prices, but I knew she wasn't in charge of their corporate policy.

Thanks for the post. I rarely visit CVS, and my location had the dvds unsigned behind the register. In fact, when I asked the cashier to price check a title, he pointed to the full price sticker and assured me that was the current price.
I found a long OOP (Jan 2002) platinum edition copy of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Since this sells for at least $40 new, I consider the $6.25 quite a bargain!

Okay I'm mad now! I've tried a few different CVS's around me and found nothing! Did anyone in the southern new jersey, how about even philadelphia area find anything?

I didn't really pay attention to this thread earlier, but just yesterday I got some coupons in the mail. The Osco near me is now a CVS. I have several coupons for $5 off a $10 purchase. Just might be worth my while to look now!

I just checked my CVS again, and they had more titles than they did last time (2 weeks ago). And, they had 60 cent stickers on them. I picked up Charlie's Angels, The 6th Day, Philadelphia, A Few Good Men.

I visited one CVS today hoping to find some great deals and use my $5 off $10 coupon, but found nothing at one converted Osco store. Couldn't find a DVD anywhere, not even Open Season which was listed in the weekly sale flier.
Stopped at another store, another old Osco, and didn't find any clearance DVDs. On my way out, I did find a small display practically placed behind a counter. No sale prices though.

I finally made it to a cvs today. They only had 6 movies left at 75%. I only bought scrooged for 3.50. The other movies they had were necessary? roughness, buffy, taps, and mortal kombat.
