Why is this boxset so freakin' expensive? :wacko: It is barebone with no inserts but yet at Amazon it is $75.00 in US which is much higher than any other regular series set. Now because I live outside of R1 market there is due consideration of international shipping cost and only if available.
Do you guys think the price offered at Amazon is fair and I should go ahead with purchasing it? Or wait to see if the new 10th Anniversary collection will lower the price? Better yet any other "reliable" online DVD stores that have international shipping?

Which platinum collection. I have the one with the thin plastic cases in a box, but there is also one with regular dvd cases, also with a box.

I seem to remember that set being much cheaper than $75. It might be best to wait for a while just to see what happens with the price.

Amazon had it for $45 for quite a long time. I would also advise you to wait. As far as the mega set 10th Anniversary Edition goes, this set has been scrapped by ADV and there isn't any planned release at this time.

I would wait too. I guess the price fluctuates a lot for that set. I got mine last month from buy.com for around 52 + the $20 google checkout deal.

You may want to check out other titles there as well to maximize savings because the $12.95 shipping charge is good for orders up to $100.00 (http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/help_5.cfm#6). And if you're willing to wait, there's always a certain sale that may (or may not) happen around the middle of June that could take another $10 or so off of that.

The biggest problem is finding a place with it cheap without international shipping killing the deal. I tried finding a few sites that sold it under $75 but the international shipping was a lot.
