The 4 disc Deluxe Collector's Edition may have extras but I don't think they have DTS

According to a thread in the DVD Talk section, all the extras included in the other regions 4 disc sets are included in the US R1 release, although some are as hidden easter eggs.

All releases of Titanic have both DTS 6.1 ES and DD 5.1 EX.

Paramount distributes the film in the U.S. and Canada. Fox handles distribution for the rest of the world.

Fox Japan & Fox Korea released the same set as the R1 version. All other Fox releases have the fourth disc with the HBO featurette, 3 shorts inspired by Titanic, and trailers & TV spots.

It is advertised on the shelf at my Local Best Buy for 9.99, but it was sold out. Naturally, the store manager would not give a raincheck because it was not advertised. Please steer clear of BB whenever possible. This store has been a nightmare for the past five years and I have hardly ever been able to buy an item and get out unscathed in some way.

I just bought the Brazilian 4 disc edition (which didn't have DTS). I switched out the first two discs and sold them on Ebay. :)

well, I got the 3 disc version

even if they ever decide to release the 4 disc version, I won't be shelling out the cash to buy it, not worth it just for some trailers and an HBO documentary

this will be my one and only final purchase of this movie(I have never owned this movie in vhs or other dvd version), even if they decide to re-release this in the future with the 4 disc version, collector's cards, and a plastic titanic ship in some collector's tin box, I will pass on that

I bought the first release back in '99 or '00 and never watched it. Bought 3 disc when it came out (fye rebate that I actually did receive) and never watched it. I think I will await the 4 or 5 disc version and watch that. Well, mabye just buy that to sit next to the other ones.

there is a single frame in the film that has a blue digital cube in it. Most people would never notice it, if the exact time code wasn't put on the internet...however it was, and people were screaming for a recall.

It was actually a zit (or "bluehead") that Leo's makeover artist missed when airbrushing his closeups.

Yesterday, I looked it up on Best Buy's website, and for all local stores it was noted that Titanic was not available. However, when I went to the store after work, I found 5 copies on the shelf (with the $9.99 sale tag).

I was happy to find it in stock, especially since (I thought) I had a $5 Best Buy gift card to use on it. The $5 'Kids' Best Buy gift card was originally packaged with Dreamworks movie (I think it was Madagascar). But, when I presented the card, the register wouldn't apply it cuz it said it was only to be used as $5-off another Dreamworks title. Since nowhere on the card or in the original ad or dvd packaging were such restrictions noted, I argued with the cashier but got nowhere. There was a line behind me, so I bought it anyway and left. I shoulda just left without buying it, and since I'm still ticked I'll probably return it and just buy it from Amazon where at least I'll save the $0.67 sales tax!

EDIT: I went back to BB after lunch and returned the dvd I bought yesterday. I grabbed another one off the shelf, thinking I'd go ahead and try using that $5 'Kids' GC again with a different cashier. After two cashiers and a manager all got involved, they finally figured out how to process the card (as a manufacturers coupon), so I ended up getting Titanic SE for $4.99 ($5.66 incl. tax).
