Silly Stargate: SG-1 Question

I just jumped back into SG-1, season 8 specifically. It's been about a year since I saw season 7 so it isn't exactly fresh in my mind.

What is the story behind Teal'c growing out his hair?

Looks terrible, btw.

Never explained it. Maybe the actor just got tired of shaving his head.

Probably trying to show that he is become more humanized. His gold tint has also disappeared.
Spoiler:
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he no longer has a symbiote.

I think it's explained in one of the commentaries. IIRC the actor just got sick of shaving...

Starman's explanation is what I figured it to be. The actor playing Teal'c probably wanted to grow it in real life and it coincided with the info in his spoiler tag.

Thanks guys. I didn't think they brought it up. I think one of the characters mentioned the 'do' in passing but never 'why.'

I guess Starman's post is the best at an explanation in regards to the show and not the actor. Just figured it might have been used plot-wise.
