SecondSpin.com offers 20% more for used thru Monday

Posting this in the stores forum as well.

"Get a bunch of stuff over the holidays you don't want? Don't leave your music, movies & games sitting around gathering dust - turn them into CASH! And for four days only, get 20% more for your trade-in! And since SecondSpin.com pays the most for your Used CDs, DVDs & Games, that's a lot of cash! But hurry...this offer is valid only Friday, January 5 thru 11:59 pm ET, Monday, January 8! (Any sell order placed after this time will not receive the 20% bonus.) So don't waste any time...gather your CDs, DVDs & Games and start making 20% more cash now!

Your friends at SecondSpin.com"

Cool, thanks. I unloaded a ton of stuff when they had a similar 25% promotion last year... I'm sure I'll come up with a nice box full again...

Your title is misleading. We are looking to buy dvds here, not sell them.

Fartface. I just sold them like $100 worth last week. Pooppants.

Anyway, GREAT site. They are honest and I've never had a rejection. They pay quickly as well, and will send to Paypal so you get it faster.

Spun, on the other hand, bites the ass of a gorilla and doesn't brush its teeth before it kisses you full on the mouth.

Some of us like to do both, and there's nothing misleading about the title.

Thanks, OP!

Wherehouse has been doing this in-store. They have a bag they tell you to put the DVDs in to get the extra 20%. The bag also has logo for FYE and their other stores, so apparently the deal is on at those places too. Secondspin, Wherehouse, and FYE are all owned by the same company.

In my experience buying from Secondspin and Wherehouse (same company), the reason they don't reject anything is because they will sell any crap to the customers. On the other hand, discs from Spun are usually in great shape.

So I prefer to sell to Wherehouse/Secondspin and buy from Spun.

Wherehouse's biggest problem is that they pack
dvds/cds in that crappy white bubblewrap.
So I get alot jacked stuff. Where spun usually
(not always though) uses a box.

I also have had stuff rejected from wherehouse.
One they claimed it was missing a cover.
But the cd was released without one.
As the disc was the art work. Anyways..
All the above mentioned have pretty
good customer service with any problems.
And they have always sent back what
was rejected. If a little slow at times.

Just remember that they will reject scratched
discs. So I put a little bubblewrap inside
the cases to keep the discs from floating
loose and becoming scratched.

I went to the website, saw thw the advert., but when I put something in my cart to sell it did not offer 20% more as advertised! The buying price was the same as it had been previously! How do you get the 20% added to your sale of items???

Same promo is alive again until midnight on Monday 4-30.

Unfortunately, it is not adding 20% to my total even when I type in the code (twentymore). It worked fine for me in January.

I noticed this as well. An email conversation with Customer Service confirmed the bonus 20%...it just doesn't show up online for some reason.

Thanks op! The additional almost 20.00 was enough to get me motivated to get this box of DVDs in the mail! My order showed the 20% bonus online so maybe they fixed it.

Thanks to docdoowop....

Email confirmation had the correct
buy prices. And I also called and
a nice young man said it was a
site glitch. But the 20% more
would be paid out. He also said
that today was the last day.

Now to see what gets rejected.
