I have been trying to play the minigames with friends without much success. It seems in certain games, the console loses communication with various remotes for no reason. I have had no issues with any of the remotes or the sensor bar communicating with them in other games, only this title.

Anyone else experience the same problems in multiplayer minigames?

its not the Wiimotes, or anything to do with the hardware. Depending on which mini game you are playing, they are very finicky, and you will actually think your wiimote is messing up.

The more you play those mini games that seem messed, the more you realize what the game is looking for, in terms of controls. Some games, like the herding game, are mostly unplayable. If you figure out what the game is looking for, you can play, but its definitely a software/programming issue

This is the reason I sold back Monkey Ball the very next day. I stood outside in line before opening. I couldn't sell that terrible game back quickly enough.

I'll get it again when it's $20 or so, but it's not a $50 game by any stretch of the imagination.

well, its pretty obvious they spent more time perfecting certain mini-games, and not enough time on others.

I think if you have friends over enough, I can easily justify the $40 I spent on this title.

I enjoy the single player campaign, but the mini-games are so painfully hit or miss, and agreed it isn't worth $50. The hovercraft on ice one is a blast though.

A lot of the games are very finicky though, and many require you be in range to point at the screern.

I actually got the hang of the single player, well enough, not perfect, but the damn second boss is giving me problems.

I loved the single player mode, but I also had trouble with the mini-games. I played Whack-a-mole, and I couldn't control the hammer at all. I had a little better luck with the sheep herding.

Yeah, it would have been much better if Sega would have trimmed down the mini-games to the best 10 or so, maybe have a few more unlock later.

Not sure what creature he is but he flys around firing purple rockets that look like A-Bombs at you. They are homed on you so you have to roll around and have them hit him with his own rockets. PITA.

I think I successfully hit him 3 times out of all my continues.

wow

i beat that guy first try, but my brother had a ton of problems with him. I just wait till the missles get close, and then jump straight up in the air

Just setting up multiplayer is a pain in the ass. Though once its done, its a pretty fun game.

Sega rushed this game badly as can be seen in some of the minigames that feature totally broken controls. I still think the game is worth a purchase as the single player mode is excellent and there are still a lot of fun mini games that control fine. But Sega should have just cut out the minigames that are broken.

they're not broken, just have a terrible learning curve to them
