Best MALE SINGER of Popular Music in the past 30 Years ?

And try your hardest not to judge whether you like the person or the person's music. FOCUS ON PURE SINGING/VOCAL ABILITY

My votes goto

Art Garfunkel and George Michael

Prince, George Michael and Freddie Mercury would definitely be my top three. Hard to choose one of them to be best, though.

Robin Zander
Freddie Mercury
Otis Redding
Steve Perry
Neil Diamond

Edit: one more, Ian Gillan

Either Midge Ure (Ultravox, solo) or Morten Harket (a-ha).

Anyone that has heard either of them belt one out wouldn't be voting for someone else.

That'd be my vote, too. The man can do it all, from ballads to hard rock, a whisper to a scream - and make it all sound good.

The late Michael Hutchence would probably be my second choice, for mostly the same reasons.
