My Boys gets a full season

My Boys, the TBS comedy that I keep meaning to watch, was just picked up for a full season. The comedy, about a sports-loving girl with a bunch of guy friends, is the network's first attempt at an original, scripted comedy. It premiered with about 1.8 million viewers, which is enough to make TBS happy. The network ordered nine more episodes, bringing the total first-season order to 22. Production on the additional episodes will begin in early 2007 and they will air this summer. The first thirteen episodes will play out before the end of this year. And, if you're like me and you haven't seen them, you can watch on TBS.com. I think the presence of Jim Gaffigan as a co-star is what has me intrigued. No word yet on the fate of TBS's other original scripted comedy, 10 Items or Less.

TV Squad
I love this show. Glad to hear they're sticking with it. Too bad the rest of the season won't air until Summer. Hopefully there'll be more Trouty.

I've only seen it once, but really enjoyed it. The main character reminds me of myself.

I've found it to be very one note. Jim Gaffigan's character really annoyed me - all he does is bitch about his wife. Yawn. Maybe it has gotten better. At least it isn't 10 Items or Less which really stunk - not to mention it aired days before the movie by the same name was released on 12/1. Confused? I was.

All in all, I passed on both. Since this shows tends to be rerun endlessly in the late evenings on TBS, I may catch one or two if nothing else is on.

yeah, i'd recommend catching it. sure, gaffigan complains about his wife, but he also brings other weird tyhings to the table. like this last episode, he was going on and on about wine while everyone else, of course, drinks beer. pretty funny.

i am definitely pleasantly surprised with this show.

Just started watching this show. I think I'm through the first 5 eps. Definitely enjoy it enough to watch the rest. I love Gaffigan and he's the reason I was interested, but the other two friends, Kenny and Mike (and Bobby is also becoming more tolerable) are stealing the show.

Thank God they ended the P.J. - Bobby storyline before it could get annoying.

I am enjoying this show. Even Trouty has grown on me and he really annoyed me when they first introduced his character

I guess I'm the minority here, I didn't really like it. It seemed like a toned-down version of Sex and the City, and I found the main character pretty annoying, especially with her god awful analogies. But that's just me.

yeah, he became a lot more likeable in his second appearance.

"and he took off his clothes and jumped into the river to save me. he stripped completely naked for some reason... but he saved me"

A heads up, but TBS is re-airing the entire first season on the 29th (Sunday) and S2 starts up on Tuesday with 2 episodes.

Your "boys" should stay in their own "neighborhood".

I'm out there Jerry, and I'm loooooovin' every minute of it!

Back OT, I saw one or 2 episodes of this show and liked it. Will have to record the shows on the 29th to catch up and see how it goes. I still can't get past the lead character looking like a 16 year old though.

^^^ I can just see some anal "I don't have anything better to do" housewife send a letter to TBS complaining that she saw a commerical with an underage girl holding a big glass of Beer.

It doesn't take much, but I admit it ... I fell for her last season.

Hot, Smart, funny, did I mention hot, and a sports junkie.

I recorded the season during it's 1st season marathon yesterday and watched it throughout the day. I'm not sure how much I like the baseball analogies yet, but some of them are pretty good. But they could get old over time. I overall liked it and I'm in for the show.

Enjoyed the show, but thought it's PQ was horrible. We got our first HDTV and cable hooked up in our new house Saturday, and this show was by far the worst of any standard def program. I hope they take it up a notch in quality this time around.

new episode last night. TROUTY RETURNS!

I thought it was great. Nice to see Dr. Dudemeister getting more work...

the comments on Bobby's hotness from all the other guys was hilarious. This show and "How I Met Your Mother" are the best shows on TV at conveying the natural interaction between friends, how they constantly rip on each other.

Okay, so I'm confused... The episodes currently airing are they the back 9 of season 1, or are they a second season?
