DVD Talk review of 'Dolly Parton and Friends'
I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of Dolly Parton and Friends at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=25704 and...Rod McKuen's popularity is hardly inexplicable. I wish I had written "Jean" or "Love's Been Good To Me" or the English language version of "If You Go Away." That's a silly thing for Mr. Mavis to say.

i must say that the review of the dvd seemed quite interesting, and has what I consider myself a pretty great review. I just wanted to say that the one thing that really sticks out to me, is the amount of songs that Dolly has written. I'm sure at the time she was probably still registered as having written 600 songs. Around the year 1998 it was announced that she had registered through BMI as having written and registered more than 3,000 songs. In the last year or two, it was announced that she had gone up to having 5,000 or more songs written and published through the music registration and publishing agency BMI, after she copyrights them through her own publising company Velvet Apple Music, which was started out while with porter as Owepar publishing.
