I decided to upgrade my tv so I can hook up my xbox 360 and the hd add on. Im looking something around the 40" range. Right now im looking at the Sony 40 inch xbr2 but its kind of pricey. Im putting this in my bedroom if you guys want to know.Any suggestion and where can I get it for the best price? I will upadate with pictures once i get it. I plan on picking it up sometime next week.

The 42" consumer Panasonic Plasma is hot right now with the lowered price. Should be able to get for around $1,200 or less.

If you don't need a flat panel, I saw the Samsung DLP 42" is really a good price as many are going to the 47" or 50" models. Sony make a 42" 3LCD model as well that is well reviewed as well.

I just bought the Panny TH-42PX60U from CC Fri evening for 1299+TTL with a $100 Gift Card. I will buy the extended warranty from Mack Warranty for a 3 year extension @$110.00+tax.

Panny displays an excellent pic in OTA HD and a very good SD pic, toned down the settings for the burn-in period of 100+ hours. Very happy so far, until I receive my bill... I can get some cable channels such as Bravo, FX and some others via the QAM tuner.

I was looking at the Sammy DLP's until the the bulb replacement kept coming into my mind, though the warranties would take care of the first 1 or 2 (can't remember) The Mack Warrarany was higher though on the DLP's/

The Sammy HLS-4266W, which I believe Sdallnct was referring to, has a "Black Grass issue according to AVSforums. Though the sale price at CC now is hard to pass up. Next would be the 46" HLS-4666W or the slim, lightweight version of the 4666, the HLS-4676S. Neither my BB or CC had the 4676 on display.

As a plasma is nice and all, but I dont think I want to get a plasma because of the burn in problem. I would rather get a lcd because my tv is on most of the time because of family members also watching tv. Thanks for the input and I will go check out the tvs you guys recommended. Thanks for the input and anymore input would be highly appreciated.Thank you guys again.

Plasma's really no longer have a "burn in problem". They do have user problems.

What you mean by user problems?

What you mean by user problems?

Not properly calibrating the set. Not doing reasonable things to ensure no burn in.
