After reading several threads here about DVD storage, I am ready to buy a DVD spinner rack. With my collection continuing to grow, I think I'd be smart to get one that will hold at least 500 DVDs. Any particular brands/websites you would recommend using or avoiding would be very helpful.

This is the one I'm leaning toward now: http://www.storeyourmedia.com/1600-cd-capacity-4-sided-spinning-tower.aspx

I can't find any reviews or comments about the brand, so I guess it will be a bit of a gamble as to whether it is well-made, etc.

Any particular reason you want a giant spinning box? I've got shelves and they look better in my opinion than that. But if it works for you, it looks like a good way for 756 DVDs.

I'll be the first to agree that spinners are not particularly attractive. The issue is that I just don't have the wall space to support a sufficient number of shelves. While I probably could get a single shelf now that would hold my current collection, I'd have no room to expand it. The only way I could swing shelves as a long-term solution would be to have a unit in nearly every room of my house. Since I also have quite a few books to store, I'm hesitant to give up what little wall space I have to DVD shelves.

Having second thoughts about junking up my main room with a spinner. Now I'm thinking about something more like this: http://www.storeyourmedia.com/-782-cd-capacity-barrister-tower-black-finish.aspx

I just wish I knew if a wall anchor would be needed.

A wall anchor probably wouldn't hurt, but it looks like a pretty wide base and shouldn't tip easily. Of course, just my opinion looking at an online image.
