Unknown Chaplin $4.98 at DDD
I know this may not be at the top of anyone's list but mine ...
I saw this when checking out my wish list at DDD and it showed up at the top of the price-sorted list:

I remember seeing this on PBS years ago. For anyone interested in Chaplin, silent films, or film history in general, I think it's a bargain at this price (list on A&E's site is $24.95). I've read a couple of reviews that indicate the image quality is not stellar, but again, it's $4.98 for 160+ minutes of material from Brownlow and Gill.

Thanks. Looked on Amazon and all 11 reviewers give it 5 stars not sure if its for the Dvd as they refer to VHS. Its 23.70 there for the Dvd.
Oh, it OOS at DDD so it might take awhile to get it.

I don't think it's really OOS. It said that when I ordered it, then two days later I got an email saying it shipped. My original receipt from them said it was a pre-order, which it's obviously not. I ordered it on the first day of the DDD A&E sale.
So anyway, anyone hesitating to buy because it's OOS, I'd definitely take the chance.

This is a great deal. For anyone out there who's on the fence, let me just say that this DVD turned me from a casual Chaplin fan to a fanatic. I have no regrets about paying full price for it to replace my old VHS set, so at $5 it's an absolute steal.

Thanks so much. I have heard nothing but stellar things about this doc, but only now could truly enthusastically pull the trigger. Looking very forward to it!
