I put in for 2.

Don't feel I need them personally, but as I said in the other thread, theirs no accounting for who friends will swing them around during drunken gaming sessions.

Have 2. Ordered 6. I'm going to ebay the other 4. Those auctions should bring in enough to pay for a new game!

Really? I just ordered 2 more from ToysRUs.com this week. I'm worried about them being the old style so I'm ordering 4 from Nintendo just in case - they make you use your console's serial number so I'm concerned they'll only let you do it once.

Of course! But I guess given the lunacy associated with the Wii and PS3 launches, nothing seems too outrageous to be possible.

Seriously though, have: 2, ordered: 2.

Not necessarily. I bought 3 at Target this past Wednesday and they all had the thin string.

That was a very very quick response by Nintendo. The system has been out less then a month and they are on the ball with it. Granted it is just a simple thing like straps but still.

I hope they don't want us to ship back the old strap.

LoL, I use the strap but I don't really feel I need it because I use my brain when I play and don't throw the controller from my hands .

I think they're trying to minimize any bad publicity (or possibly even lawsuits though you'd hope that sort of thing would be laughed out of court), so my take would be that they likely want your serial number because they want to track the requests to make sure somebody isn't ordering like 500. I'm guessing that any order that totals four or less per serial number would be fine.

They may also want to try to get a sense as to controller trends, so they're using the serial as a convenient way of tracking it.

What about the extra wiimotes you buy separately? Are they eligible for the replacement straps?

Ordered 4 fortunately since my extra 2 arrived from Toys R Us on Friday with the original straps. So I'll have replacements on the way from all 4!

Good. It was only a matter of time. How long till they include the new straps with the consoles? Haven't bought a Wii yet.

What are the odds for multiple orders for strap replacement? I sent in for one, but would like to get another 3 if possible. If I request more with the same serial number, will I get turned down for additional straps?
