All of the Grey's nods (Heigl? Pompeo? Ouch.) are horrible, but of course not surprising.
Lost? Nah.
Not surprising they didn't nominate the best drama this year...they never have. (The Wire).
They rightfully left The Sopranos off the list, though.

I'm glad for:
Lost (Dunno if it's for S2 or S3, but the conclusion of S2 and the first bit of S3 have been fantastic), 24 (a given.), Edie Falco (she was phenomenal in the first few eps), Michael C. Hall, Hugh Laurie, Helen Mirren getting double noms (in addition to her movie noms), Gillian Anderson, Bleak House, plus Emily Blunt getting a movie and tv nom.

I bet 24 gets best show, and best actor goes to Hugh Laurie..unless they are looking to spread around the love..then I dunno.
24 does not have much compeition.

Wow, after the last season of the Wire was completely ignored by the Emmys I was hoping that maybe the Golden Globes would recognize it. I watch and enjoy four the nominated dramas regularly, and the two best drama shows that I saw this year were the Wire and Deadwood. The Wire's in a another league entirely.

If this current season of LOST figured into the nominations at all, I'm pretty sure Matthew Fox would be there no doubt. He was amazing.
It would be funnier if it hadn't been completely predictable. Unfortunately, they telegraphed the punchline with their nominations in previous years.

Well, there aren't many male roles in Desperate Housewives or Ugly Betty, so they had to find some other shows to fill out the Best Actor comedy category.
I really liked that they nominated him, and also Justin Kirk for Weeds.
But Heigl over Chandra Wilson?

Interesting how NBC's entire Thursday comedy lineup is respresented in this category. I still like Monk, but come on. Shalhoub has been repeatedly rewarded for his performance there and it's the same schtick as it was in the beginning.

Good for Big Love.
Kind of odd that a show that is about men controlling women and only the male lead gets a nom.
The 3 wives are all fantastic and I would have liked to see them get some recognition.
At least with the show getting a nom, the entire cast can go. With the 3 lead women, the daughter, and maybe even "Mac", that's the table that I'd want to be sitting at.*
*if the spot on Evangeline Lily's lap is not available.
PS-while she has no chance of winning, it will be nice to see Gillian Anderson back in the United States and on tv for a few seconds again.

BEST TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA - 24 (FOX)
While I wouldn't have a problem with Heroes (out of these choices), it's way too soon. They're not even done with one season yet, for chrissakes. However, if I had my way, i'd pick the Sopranos. Screw you guys.
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA - Edie Falco
If anything, let it be one of those "lifetime" body of work pity awards they always seem to give away on the Oscars. The rest of this category is a joke.
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA - Hugh Laurie
Even though I just started watching House, Hugh is the reason I decided to do it.
BEST TELEVISION SERIES – COMEDY OR MUSICAL - the Office and/or Ugly Betty
I tried to narrow it down, but I couldn't. If a tie isn't possible, i'd have to give it to the Office for the same reason that Heroes shouldn't win that category.
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES –COMEDY OR MUSICAL - America Ferrera
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES – COMEDY OR MUSICAL - Alec Baldwin
VERY tough category since I enjoy all the nominees. However, based on the two episodes of 30 Rock i've seen, i'll give it to Alec. Then again, I have no idea why I bothered typing all of this. They'll just give it to Shalhoub.
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION - Andre Braugher
Though I didn't see any of these show, i'm sure Andre did a stellar job and it's about time to start making up for those missed Homicide: Life On the Streets awards.
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A SERIES, MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION - I could care less since I don't watch any of these shows, but I went with Katherine since I admire her golden globes.

The award is most likely going to Grey's. Not because I think it is the best, but because it is what is majorly hot right now.
While 24 was at its best this season, it has to break this little curse going on at the Globes. A drama series has not won more than once since 1998. Also, only one perfomer has won more than once (Falco).
2006 - Lost, Laurie, Geena Davis
2005 - Nip/Tuck, McShane, Mariska Hargitay
2004 - 24, LaPaglia, Frances Conroy
2003 - The Shield, Chiklis, Falco
2002 - Six Feet Under, Sutherland, Garner
2001 - The West Wing, Sheen, Sela Ward
2000 - The Sopranos, Gandolfini, Falco
1999 - The Practice, Dylan McDermott, Keri Russell
1998 - The X-Files, Anthony Edwards, Christine Lahti
1997 - The X-Files, Duchovny, Anderson
As opposed to the comedy categories with their endless love for Sarah Jessica Parker and Sex and the City, they like to spread the love around in the drama categories.
