It happens. DDD seems to recieve merchandise that was in stock on Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, etc. It's usually stock that didn't sell and it's returned to the distributor who re-sells it to other retailers.

I was in WalMart the other day and saw a DVD with a "Target Exclusive" sticker on it. I guess someone took advantage of Walmart's much-more-generous no-receipt return policy.

A few months after Hellboy came out on DVD, I saw several with "Best Buy Exclusive" stickers on sale at Frys.

Not necessarily. I recall this thread about a "Friends" Gift Set a couple of years ago.

Which makes sense. Because, seriously, who shops at K-Mart anymore?

Wal-Mart returns their unsold new-release DVDs after only one or two weeks. You gotta snatch 'em up quick or they're gone!

I have a wholesale account with one of the big distributors. I bought 5 copies of Ultraman v2 when it came out. They where preorders yet came in with Best Buy stickers on them.
