Question about The Last Dragon

Just picked up the DVD of this old favorite.

The back of the case says widescreen, but it plays in full screen. The review here seems to say the disc was a flipper, with ws on one side and fs on the other. But the one I have is a single-sided disc with artwork.

Anyone know what's up? Was the flipper an earlier release? Did they re-release it and remove the ws??? I've seen two versions of the keepcase artwork. The fronts are different, but the back is the same.

... OK, did a second search and found an old thread asking the same question. No definitive answer, but guessing that it was because of a "downgrade." IMO, it sucks ass that the CORRECT ratio gets removed! I emailed Sony to ask about this and I'll see what they say. I'd love it if they offered to get the WS version to me.

Not sure if I'll keep this or take it back, claiming it was falsely labeled. I like the movie, but I wanted to see it in WS.

I'll just put this up here for the record.

Already got a reply back from Sony. Says if I mail this one in, they'll send me the widescreen version.
