Guitar Hero ?'s
I haven't played either of the GH games, but would like to get one or both of them. I have a PS2 and 360.
-If I want to play them both, I'm guessing my best bet is just to get them for PS2, since I'll probably want 2 controllers?
-I'm guessing there's no plans for GH1 to be released on 360? Or is there?
-Will the 360 version(s) offer any advantages over the PS2 versions, aside from graphics (which I'm assuming is not a big part of the game)?
-What's the 360 version/bundle going to sell for?

360 version isn't out yet. Won't be for a few months.
PS2 version does have progressive scan. graphics are solid. You're not going to have too much time to admire the graphics while playing anyways.

The graphics are purely for on-lookers. You'll be too focused on the notes.
The 360 version is rumored to have downloadable songs, but considering the ample track listing for GH2 as it is, I don't see it being a huge deal.

The bundled controllers are perfect, but are wired. I think there are some combos that include the wireless now but dunno.
imo, if you can get to TRU today, is print out the 12 Deals of Xmas ( http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=486267 ) coupon and pickup Guitar Hero 2 (GH2 + Guitar + Skins for $59.99 + Tax). And then buy the Guitar Hero 1 combo nexttime it's on sale. You'll end up with two guitars for a solid price.

Now I'll actually have to plug my PS2 back up.

Picked it up at TRU at lunch. Good deal.
I didn't ask the cashier because they were busy as hell, but they had 3 PS3 boxes sitting out as if they were in stock. Kind of surprised to see that if they were indeed available.

I played the game at a friend's house and enjoyed the game so much that I purchased Guitar Hero 2 and an extra guitar. And this is coming from somebody who doesn't even own a PS2. Had to take it over to my brother's house and play there.
The Hard Difficulty Setting is tearing me a new ass right now.

Good deal! Thanks sent it to my mom as she'd tried to get me GH1 for X-mas but had her order cancelled at one store (pricing mistake at DDD) and had to dispute the charge from some random online store as it never arrived and they wouldn't return e-mails (number they gave the credit card company was a cell phone number).
So she was happy to get this one for a good price, though I'd told her a million times to just forget about it.

So the question is this: can we take the following phrase to mean that GH is now playable on a PS3?
"USB peripherals designed for PlayStation®2 titles, including steering wheels and flight sticks, can now be used when playing PlayStation 2 games on the PS3 system."
If any of you folks have GH and have downloaded this most recent firmware for PS3, please report back on what you find. I may need to add this to my xmas list after all.

I believe that the issue of compatibility lies only with the guitar controller. Something about needing to hold a certain button while the PS3 is powering up to play PS1/PS2 games and the analog setting, which the GH controller doesn't have, so even a USB adaptor wouldn't help.
Presumably, when they release GHx for the PS3 it will have a guitar controller that works with the PS3 and has the necessary buttons.

What an addicting game...
Anyhow, I'd like to get a 2nd controller - I suppose my best bet would be GH1 + Guitar combo...but are any of the 3rd party controllers good?
I guess before I go get a 2nd guitar, I should ask if playing with somebody adds much? Or is it just as fun to watch somebody play this?

I enjoyed switching off when I only had one, it's funny because you end up air guitaring along.
That said, 2 player is an absolute blast, both the competition mode (which is weighed really well, one person can play Hard and one can play Easy, it weighs it fairly w/ that handicap) and the co-op (one person on main guitar, the other on rhythm/bass/whatever) modes are just a fantastic amount of fun.

So this game is pretty addicting. Damn.
Any reason I shouldn't pick up GH1? Looking at the track list, it might be better than GH2 (IMHO). Is gameplay basically identical?
