I know there was a lawsuit from the guys who made 'parts: the clonus horror". So that might be why its not on dvd yet

I think you're confused about that... the "Parts: The Clonus Horror" lawsuit is against the makers of the new and entirely unrelated "The Island" that came out last year and is already on DVD.

The Peter Benchley book/movie is about descendants of stranded pirates living on an island in the south seas, and still raiding passers-by.

I remember the movie being badly done, but it had its charms, and I too would like to see it again. The book was better, but still nothing amazing.

LOST actually reminded me of this movie, because "the others" kidnapping kids, etc., to make new converts for their cause, is part of "THE ISLAND".

I actually used to own this on VHS back in the day. I'd buy it on DVD.

It made it to laserdisc, but not in widescreen. For people who enjoy a bad movie that takes itself seriously, it's a lot of fun. Where's Hurry Sundown, anyway?

I'd also like 'The Beast' and 'Creature' from Benchley
