Cheap Boxsets at Hastings

Their new flyer claims that you can get several seasons of The Simpsons, Gilmore Girls, and Smallville for $7.99 each. The catch is there is a mail in rebate involved. Here is the link:

This could turn out to be a bait and switch deal, since the fine print says Simpsons 1-4 are on sale but it shows other seasons beyond the 4th one in the ad.

It looks like an 8 to me as well...I work at Hastings, but not tomorrow As far as I know, our ads don't feature the 'bait and switch' technique. If pictured, it's part of the sale.

Picked up 1-8 for 17.99 each before rebate. I already picked up smallville for 14.99 at target or I would have gotten those too. I may go back and pick up some of the others just cause they are so cheap after rebate...hastings will have to send me a 150 check in 6-8 weeks

Here are the titles that qualify for the rebate:

Simpsons S1-8, Friends S1-3, Smallville S1-3, Gilmore Girls S1-3

Rebate is only good for this week. No limit on rebate even for the same title. But you need to submit each one of them separately so I guess we got a lot of stamps to waste.

The item quantity is very limited and Hastings do not restock them promptly. So hurry up.

Does the rebate involve cutting a UPC or proof of purchase from the boxes?

No, I just bought 7 boxed sets. The requirements for rebate are a copy of the sales receipt, a copy of the UPC code and the rebate form that's printed at the register at the time of sale.

Wait, do they need to be sent in separate envelopes? I bought Simpsons Season 5 and 6 on the same receipt and was about to send it all out in one envelope.

I sent all of them in at the same time... I think it would be pretty dumb to waist 3 more bucks in stamps when there's no point. I scanned the ups to each box and photoshoped them all on the same page. Sent them a copy of my original receipt, and sent them each of the rebate forms that printed.

My rebate actually says the rebate is good next week also.
