New Avril Lavinge Album??

Has anyone heard about a new album from her? A guy on imdb said she's almost done and it's coming out in April. But, I haven't seen anything about it.

So does anyone else know if this is true?

Apart from her new single from Eragon, the only news I've heard is that it is coming sometime 2007 but no set date. It's about fucking time.

You guys really like her? I'm not going to threadcrap you, but I think she really sucks. There's no originality, and I NEVER bought her "riot grrll" image. She seems totally false to me.

I've read stuff in Rolling Stone about something coming soon. I remeber the article saying that this one is going to be a tad more up beat then the previous album. And to the above poster yeah, I have both albums, and do think she has some tallent (and has a great bod.)

I think she's the most original of most of the pop female artists. She writes all of her own songs and can play at least 3 different instruments. She's the only artist out there that I like every single song she's done.

But to each his own.

Avril is one of the better "teen pop" groups. I wouldn't spend any money to see her in concert, but my ears don't bleed when I listen to her.

That's also the information I've got - her new album is currently scheduled for April 2007.

That's cool. I'm all for people liking who they want to, that's what music is all about. I think I just can't get past her image because I don't buy it as genuine.

See, this is something I just can't understand. Who cares? All "celebrities" are fake to an extent. If the music sounds good, enjoy it for that.

I just firmly believe that she's a rich private school girl who was manufactured to be a riot gurl. If she had her druthers, she'd be wearing H&M and talking about how cute JT is.

She has changed quite a bit in the last 4+ years. She no longer wears the punk clothes and does stuff like that anymore. She has gone blonde and got married, and I admire her for that. I think society expected her to be that punk girl forever and in less than 5 years she completely changed to what she wanted.

Avril was never punk. She never even looked punk. Her look and music was pop/rock.

The press tried to make her out as some lil' riot gurl which always made me

So then the overdone black eye makeup, black nail polish, devil horn flashing and ratted t-shirts were her pop image then?

I think she is better than the rest of the young ones. At least in the awards shows I have seen her in she did not lip sync.

I agree completely, I saw her live once and it was a really great show. I think that's why I like her so much, because she does everything herself.

She's so much better than Britney Spears.

Yeah, the way she was presented as a punk rocker or whatever was annoying, as was the one song that played into that image (Sk8r Boi). But as has been said here, if you take her for what she is.... an above average (especially in this day and age) pop-rock singer she's not bad. Especially when compared to the likes of Ashlee Simpson.

Even if she is, so what? What does it matter?

I listen to music because I like the music. I could care less if the person singing it is "real" or what they're really like.
