Not sure what the price will be yet, they've usually been marking these down the day of the sale. Right now the price is $35 and there is a $20 rebate:

Confirmed in-store at fye today. Thanks.
$34.99, less a $15 rebate that printed out at the register. I had vowed to stay away from fye, but even without the rebate, $34.99 is a very good price for this set. The rebate just sweetens the deal, even though I'm sure I'll have to make a call or two to get the rebate processed correctly.

At the store near my office where I bought mine today (6th Ave. in midtown NY), it was not on the BOGOF DVD table. It was in a different part of the DVD section separately marked with sale stickers at $34.99. It might be worth it to check out if it is BOGOF, but I didn't have time to bother.
It also didn't indicate anywhere in the store that there was a rebate on the set, but I took a shot based upon what the poster said above, and sure enough, the rebate printed out at the register. Even the salesperson was surprised how cheap it was. The in-store rebate form shows the rebate period as 11/30/06 - 1/10/07. As to the sales price at $34.99, who knows how long that will last.

Actually, if you click on Help, then email CS, you can send them a message. One of the subject options is to cancel an order. I sent an email using the rebates subject asking if I can still use it since I technically ordered on 12/5 here.

If this is any indication of the Die Hard box set from last year, some people waited weeks for their orders to be fulfilled. Good luck to those who got in early.

Since I'm taking a vacation day and there is an FYE within a couple of miles from my house, I went over there this morning to pick this up.
Apparently -- maybe obviously  to people who pay attention to these things -- the Deal Of The Day promotion is only online, and I was only offered the $15 rebate at checkout. Also, this rebate requires cutting the UPC off the outer case -- or at least that's what the rebate form states. (No option to use the little Proof of Purchase tabs on the inner spine according to that form.) I'm not a big Oliver Stone fan; I didn't really balk at defacing it slightly since it still holds the inner cases fairly snugly.
Assuming the rebate is fulfilled, the set will cost around $20 plus tax and a stamp (and an outer case with a hole in it.) The Doors and Nixon have Disk 1 printed on the disk; any bonus materials on Disk 2 aren't in this box. JFK's Special Features menu references Additional Special Features Located on Other Disc.
My copy, however, includes an anamorphic Born On The Fourth Of July in contradiction to the DVD Talk reviews quote posted above. I don't think R1 16x9 versions of The Doors or Nixon have been published yet.
The N. Dekalb Mall FYE had at least three more copies as of a few hours ago.

It sounds like you may have already cut your box, but don't forget that you can use the fye price sticker with the UPC code indicated as the UPC for purposes of the rebate. You do not have to cut the box. The problem was always for internet orders, which are delivered without the price sticker. But if you buy in-store, just use the price sticker.
And good news about the anamorphic Born on the Fourth. I thought I recalled reading some time ago that the review was wrong regarding this.

That is weird. I also check in-store yesterday and the Oliver Stone box set rang up as ($34.99 x 2) for two sets, and the register did not automatically take off the second copy price. I tried with other box sets on the BOGO table with the OS set, but no luck. According to the cashier, it is a $15 rebate. Did something change in the system today? Also, did you encounter the same situation and had them do a price override on the second copy? But again, that doesn't explain the $20 rebate that printed out today.

"... The in-store rebate form shows the rebate period as 11/30/06 - 1/10/07. As to the sales price at $34.99, who knows how long that will last."

couldn't seem to find the Oliver Stone Collection as one of the selections. Does anyone know the rebate number, I tried putting the UPC # from the rebate form but that doesn't work.
Also, is the packaging slip the invoice deal that will come with the set?
Any help appreciated.
This rebate might not be part of presubmit rebates. Packaging slip comes with your DVD yes.

Mine was cancelled as well. Not as though my life depended on it, but it would have been nice to have for under $14. Though I did call up customer service to find out what happened. I don't know why they call it customer service - every question that I asked regarding this order was forwarded off to corporate headquarters to get an answer. I then asked to speak with someone from corporate - and was told, "You can't call them, but they will answer your questions via email and get back to you shortly." LOL Guess it is just hit and miss with FYE.com.

Yep, same here. Well, I'll try in-store to see if they still have it for $34.99 with a $15 rebate. I get 10% off for backstage pass, so it's still a good deal... If they have the B1G1F people have reported, it's an even better deal.

Well when I went up the register the guy said, "Did you get that off the table?". To which I replied yes because I did, so he checked, and it was all fine. There were more around the store marked with some sticker that were included in the sale as well I guess. Just such crappy prices.

PS: In order to get the rebate, do I have to cut the UPC off the box, or can I use the price-tag sticker that has the UPC on it? I've read in other threads about using the sticker, but does it work every time? Thanks!

Yes, use the yellow price sticker instead of UPC barcode. I've been doing this for the 15 or so in-store rebates that I've done with them this year. Never once have I gotten an invalid UPC rejection. I have gotten an "invalid limit exceeded" rejection though, even though I follow their limit of 1 per UPC/household. As usual, make copy of everything including the price sticker. Better safe than sorry.
EDIT: If you peel the sticker off slowly, you can do it without breaking the shrink wrap seal.

They cancelled my order too so I stopped at an FYE retailer today.
Picked up the Oliver Stone Collection, on the BOGO table - $34.50. Also grabbed the Lord of the Rings Trilogy - $39.99 (had to get something). With my 10% discount card, plus tax, out the door was $38.15. Less the $15 rebate = $23.15 total for the two sets.
Will probably ebay the LOTR trilogy unopened so I'm thinking the OS Collection will end up being about free.

Although not quite as hot as the last DOTD promo at $14.99 AR, Fye is putting it back up as DOTD 12/15 for $19.99 AR. Using the MC promo (MCOCT2006) brings the price down to $31.49 with free shipping. Final total after rebate is $16.49 + sales tax on $31.49. Once again, good luck to all.

Also, does anyone know how I can do the rebate thing now. Do I have to cut something up from the box? I hope not, since I don't want to ruin the box.

The UPC is no longer required. However, they might still declare your rebate submission as invalid due to a missing UPC(this happened to me with the Lost Season 2 rebate). I fired off an e-mail telling them that the UPC was not required. A few days later and my rebate was declared valid, processed and I received the check two months later. I now nip this problem in the bud by including a note with my submission, pointing out that the UPC is not required. All of my rebates have gone through without a hitch ever since.

From post #8 by jeffrey_r,
".... As to the sales price at $34.99, who knows how long that will last."

That was a bunch of crap.
The e-mail said that they couldn't get any more from their distributors, so they cancelled the order, then less than a week later, they have more in.
It's only $5 and it is still a great deal nonetheless, so I'm not going to complain too much, but it is very dishonest.

My tracking info still has not changed once from its BS leaving Bell, CA on the 8th. I've e-mailed customer service with no response, so I think I'll just dispute the charge with my credit card company.
I'd give another retailer like DDD more time before disputing, but I feel fye deserves no more patience. I had originally bought this in-store without the 10% online coupon and with the $15 in-store rebate instead of the $20 online rebate. I haven't returned that one to the store yet, so looks like I'll be sticking with that one at a little bit higher price. Shouldn't have bothered with the online order in the first place.

Regarding the incorrect rebate amount of $10 at fyerebates.com, I'm seeing the same thing whether searching by promotion # or purchase date/location. I expected them to throw hurdles at us on this rebate, but didn't expect them to do it before we've even submitted our rebates. For those who bought on the second DOTD promotion (12/15/06) for this item, the rebate shows the correct amount at $15.
At least the Die Hard and Firefly rebates are online with the correct rebate amounts. 2 out of 3 isn't bad, for Fye anyways.

I mailed in my $20 rebate form the day I got the set. Don't waste your time calling them or with the online form, just submit the mail-in form. If they acknowledge receipt of the form they are legally obligated to pay you $20. If they try to change the rebate amount, call FYE and if you don't get any satisfaction there, dispute the credit card charge - I believe you have 90 days to do that. If anyone who bought on the 5th needs a copy of the $20 rebate form, I can send you one.

Just an FYI on the discrepancy between the rebate amount ($10 vs. original $20) for the original 12/05 sales promotion, I noticed the following when pre-submitting my rebate at rebateshq.com. If you search for the promotion # at fyerebates.com (http://www.fyerebates.com), the rebate amount shows $10. If you search for the promotion # at rebateshq.com (http://www.rebateshq.com), the rebate amount shows $20. Of course, I decided to pre-submitted my rebate at rebateshq.com. I always thought the fyerebates.com site was merely pulling its information from rebateshq.com. After seeing this discrepancy, I will use rebateshq.com from now on. Also another reason to use them is that their rebate forms are much cleaner than the fyerebates.com site without the useless navigation text on the left. Remember, you have until 01/05/2007 to postmark your submission.

So I just got the inevitable "rejection" from fye for this rebate, for failure to provide the UPC code. Of course, the rebate form did not require a UPC code, and of course I provided one anyway (the in-store price sticker), but this is how they operate every time.
